Battle.Net Improved Communication

So, when this thing rolls out, how will it work?

Will people be able to add my account to their Friends list, so they can talk to me, no matter which alt I am on? That would be handy, sometimes I forget about raids, and no one knows which alt I'm on.

Will we be able to Ignore entire accounts? I would love that, I have abut 5 Ignores that all come from the same annoying guy's alts.

I could see requiring someone's approval to Friend their entire account, even if it didn't tell you which character they were on, just that they were logged into Battle.Net.

That's the basic concept, but we'll have more information on this down the road when it's closer to implementation. The details are still being fleshed out. :)

But why are we all forced to use it if it's not even ready yet?

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't moaning about spending 2 minutes switching over to Battle.net, but what does urk me is we're told all the benefits Battle.net will offer when people have questioned the switch, yet none of it is available and won't be for a long time.

Putting the infrastructure in place was an important first step to implementing all of the features we intend to add. You may not see a big change on the front end of things, but on the back end it was a fairly big undertaking. A foundation is key to building anything of considerable complexity. ;)
