I just received a whisper from a "Blizzfw" character on Winterhoof server, the body of the message is as follows....

****** Danger ! Do not follow the link below ****

"Hello, Christmas is approaching, Blizzard released Christmas presents players can receive free of charge, Please log into: "

The address above leads a site designed to look like the battlenet login page.

I am simply posting here in the hopes a forum admin will pass it along to the appropriate area.

As Zouche already said, please don't repost links like that on the forums.

I know you mean well, but someone will get curious, and it just gives them more exposure to do their dirty deeds.

That of course is a scam. You can bet anything with a hyphen in it is a scam. Domain names consider hyphens just another character, they are NOT the same thing as a period in a URL.

Please do report these immediately ingame.

Emails can use the report spam function at the top of the email. Whispers or general chat traffic can use the report spam function.

Thanks!
