No, but sadly - it is having a little difficulty waking up. They are still working on it.

Apologies for any delays in communication guys!

I know you're all probably pretty anxious regarding the issues currently occurring with Quel'dorei, and I just wanted to let you all know that our staff are still investigating.

While we'll provide an update as soon as we can, I don't currently have an ETA available regarding this realm's status nor when it will be available. It might be a good time to work on an alt on another realm while we continue to investigate.

Updates will also be provided here:

Q u o t e:
Oh, come on... really? You think it's a good time to repeat all the annoying low level stuff, with no higher level character or heirloom support, in a realm we hope we don't have to visit again, because that would mean another Quel'Dorei fail?

Actually, I know many players that maintain characters on multiple realms. Nor is it unreasonable to assume that it can be fun to level a new character 'without high level character or heirloom support', partially even for the challenge of doing so. That is all a matter of taste, of course, and I apologize if you found the suggestion distasteful for whatever reason.

I merely wished to provide a reminder that World of Warcraft remains available, even if there's a issue affecting Quel'dorei.

Q u o t e:
Well, I, in the other hand, think it's a good time to work on a report of what's have being investigated on the realm crash, and shed some light to give hope to players. No matter how far in the tunnel that light is, knowing what stuff is being investigated and eliminated as source of the problem is better than the generic "we will not update you, because you're too dumb to understand" routine being applied right now.

It is not a matter of our customer's intellect. We are well aware that our customers are often both quite intelligent and savvy. It is more a matter of confidentiality and utility.

The long and the short of it is that there's much information that we, as forum representatives, are simply not provided, nor would we be in a position to disseminate it publicly even if it were provided to us for security reasons, nor would it be efficient for our technicians to compile and furnish us with reports when they a) may not be certain where the issue lies, and b) they could be spending that time investigating or working on the issue at hand. I've also found in my personal experience that detailed reports neither generate a swifter response, nor happier recipients.

I would like to think that I've provided 'hope', in as much as we are indeed aware of the situation, and we're hard at work seeking a resolution as we speak. That is the best information I've been provided with, and that I'm in a position to share. I hope that, for now, it will suffice.

Please rest assured that we do take these issues incredibly seriously! We are striving to return you, the citizens of Quel'dorei, to your home realm as soon as possible.

Stop giving us the old GM response that really.. tells us nothing. Id like to know stuff like ,um lets say, maybe a ETA on this. Stop telling us ur working on it please stay tuned for further updates, its not working for me. I know im complaining but........ i mean if its gonna be a all day deal just tell us instead i find my self comming back to the cpu every 30 mins

If and when and ETA becomes available regarding these issues on Quel'dorei, I will be more than happy to provide it. More often than not, ETAs are not available though, and I apologize for that. I understand that the uncertainty can be frustrating.

I absolutely will. The post in question is a trolling post. If you feel that removing a link to it is inappropriate, or would like to comment regarding my conduct in this thread, then please feel free to email [email protected].

I have two on Quel Dorei, and the thought of having to start all over is so unappealing. I hope we don't lose our characters.

Losing characters isn't even on the table guys. Please don't be concerned about that, as we have extensive measures in place to prevent such things.

Huh.... I think you stretch the meaning of that, as the link is in fact to the SAME FORUMS, the World of Warcraft Forums, and not a foreign forum as the rule is supposed to mean.
I'm sending a complain about your behavior and that obscure meaning of that rule by now.

I am precisely aware of what it means Buu, nor am I 'stretching' that meaning. I have an intimate familiarity with interpretation of the forum code of conduct and what the various rules covered therein signify.

As before, if you have comments, please feel free to provide them. I'd prefer to keep this thread on track, and this discussion is no longer appropriate for this thread or the forums; it would be best to restrict further comments on the issue to email.

I don't think I'm asking for too much, just the same compensation I ask any service provider for when the service that I pay for is interrupted.

If you would like to request that compensation be considered for this issue, please feel free to create a constructive thread on the subject on our Suggestions forum. We're not in a position to field such requests here, but your request can be reviewed and considered there.

I don't suppose it's possible to provide - not so much as an ETA - as a "It'll be down for at least another "X" hours????

As soon as an ETA becomes available, I'll be happy to provide it. Unfortunately, one has not been provided as yet.

I just wanted to take a moment to reassure you all that Quel'dorei is still receiving attention, despite the issues affecting Whirlwind and Emberstorm.

I've seen a few requests for compensation - while we would always rather resolve the issues on a realm rather than 'abandon it' by furnishing Character Moves off of it, you can certainly feel free to create a constructive post on our Suggestions forum to request compensation.

Malkorix,

Do you know if the nature of the problem could possibly affect quests or other activities that we were actively engaged in during and prior to the crash?

Thanks,

Matt

It's dubitable, Rubinius, but if a realm comes down suddenly, it's sometimes possible that progress made immediately beforehand might be lost. Fortunately, such a circumstance is rare.

so wait... we have to do more work in order to hopefully be reimbursed for something that should be ours anyways?

We are willing to hear requests for compensation and I've simply provided the appropriate avenue via which to issue such a request.

Whether you wish to do so is at your discretion.

Without an update, an hour before up time is highly unlikely. Our rep was so gracious that he would notify us as soon as he heard anything. Yet the other battlegroups were attended to and fixed without even an update for us over the last 4 hours or so from the service status forum.

Both issues have received attention simultaneously. The issues affecting Whirlwind and Emberstorm as a whole were able to be resolved more swiftly than those affecting Quel'dorei specifically.

I did make a point to create a post to let you all know that Quel'dorei was not being lost in the crunch, however, and I'm hopeful that a resolution will be in place soon.

I can't log on with the toon I was playing when the server went down. I was in Warsong Gulch.

I can log on with the other toons on that server but not the one I was playing at the time.

Aye, unfortunately that can sometimes happen if you are in an instance under these circumstances.

Usually it clears up on it's own in a few minutes, but you could also petition from another character you can log in with and ask that character be moved. If you provide the keyword 'stuck' in that petition, it will help us find your request more quickly.

I am very sorry for the inconvenience.
