Character accidentally deleted with heirlooms

So I deleted one of my characters with heirloom stuff in the mail by accident. I know the name I used of the character but it was a while ago, I always assumed if mail wasn't taken out of the mailbox in 1 month it would be sent back. It's been about a month now and no heirloom gear has been sent back... So here's my question. If I file a ticket on my server on another character can I get the items back? Also I don't really NEED the item back, and I feel bad for bother GMs with this problem as it IS my fault for not posting this as soon as I made the mistake but it would be nice to not have to farm heroics again to get the badges...

Are you willing to provide me the name and realm of the character on which these heirloom items were resting? I can check to see if those items are still in a recoverable state. :)

Alright, it appears these items may have not been sent to your Death Knight, but to a character which is now no longer available in our databases. I attempted to return the mails to your rogue, but I am unable to confirm whether or not this was successful. Can I have you check your in-game mail at this time to see if the items could be returned (some gold should have been returned, as well)?

Alright. I'm going to try one more thing. I may not be able to get that heirloom item back to you, but I'm certainly going to try. :)

Q u o t e:
I highly recommend that you characters add each other to their friends list - instead of typing it all out and having a chance to misspell something, you can tab through the names.

Zelrios actually did send this item to a character on the same account; however, it looks like it was a level 1 that was then deleted. As level 1 deleted characters don't remain in our databases very long, if my suspicions are correct, the character was purged completely before the 30-day expiry date on the in-game mail.
