Q u o t e:
Mind you I am very knowledgeable about computers and visit NO suspicious websites nor any sites that may be phishing sites, and have never signed into any website other than the official worldofwarcraft.com website.
I understand, and I realize that as a player that is computer savvy it can be especially frustrating to be compromised. Please understand that if you log into any system other than your own, or if anyone else has access to your account information, then your account security could have been at risk. It's possible to pick up keyloggers from unlikely sources, including Addons. These are amongst the many, many potential causes, but they are also often overlooked.
Regardless, I assure you that the compromise did not originate due to a Battle.net merge or via the Battle.net system itself. In the interest of preventing another account compromise in the future makes recognizing that, and taking the appropriate steps to ensure that your system is secure, essential. You can review the following thread for further information:

The only explanation for my account being compromised is that us.battle.net is not as secure as Blizzard might have hoped.
Alas, the 'only' explanation is not an explanation at all =(. As compromises originate on the client side, that is the place to start your search to ensure a secure system. It is a good idea to have World of Warcraft open at the launcher when you run any malware scans as well, as some of these infections are particularly sneaky, and that can aid in detection.
Q u o t e:
This would also explain why the in game gm petition times are so lengthy about accounts being compromised.
There are many issues that our Game Masters assist with, fortunately. More than we ever have in the past, in fact. Account Compromise situations are merely one amongst many such issues.
Q u o t e:
It would only be rational to think that account compromisation would take priority over all other issues game-related as account compromisation is a very time-sensitive issue, in agreement that many people must be facing the same problem that I am, in theory in relation to the conversion to battle.net account.
It is not as time sensitive as you might think, though elapsed time can impact our ability to provide restoration, and no restoration is ever guaranteed. We do take such matters seriously, and endeavor to help our players who have been compromised as completely and swiftly as we can. They do not innately take precedence over other petition issues, however.
Q u o t e:
All I want is to have my account restored to its original state in the timeframe which was stated to me, however that timeframe has already transpired and I am now growing more frustrated and impatient with customer support. How many others are out there experiencing the same problem?
I understand that the wait for restoration can be frustrating, and I am sorry if there was any confusion or miscommunication regarding the time frame in which your investigation was likely to be complete. As your issue was reported a couple of days ago, it may yet be a few days before you receive a response. It is probably best to keep an eye on your registered email address in the meantime.
Thank you for your patience as we investigate, and I wish you luck on a swift and complete restoration.
