Are Cross-Realm pugs really the answer?

Seems to me that it will just be a larger pool of dps looking for healers and tanks.

Also keep in mind that a lot of the time even if there is a tank or healer that could go, they might be busy when you are ready to go, but Saurrfangg the exalted on that other realm is ready to go and can probably get your group rolling. Even with the ratio staying the same, making a larger pool should allow for a faster turnover rate, at least that's the hope/plan/goal.

This will definitely make it easier to get groups for dungeons that aren't the daily, regularly run or are not heroics.

True that it probably won't fix the tank and healer shortage, but that doesn't mean it's useless.

It might in a sense, sure there aren't as many tanks/healers as dps, but it should make it easier to hop in the queue and then go do what you want instead of sitting in Dalaran watching trade chat. When you are sitting and doing nothing but watching text, just waiting 2-3 minutes can seem like an eternity. The system will also make it easier to just hop in and do a heroic daily since you won't have to travel there or be in an area where people can find you - so more people may become available.

Sure, this is a lot of speculation, but things have been going well on the PTR so far so we are hopeful it will work out just as well if not better on the live realms.

To be honest I much preferred single server BGs. It kept the community closer which was something that made old WoW great. That close community is lacking now, at least compared to the old days.

Although it's true, it did reduce queue times.

I think this is arguable depending on the realm, some realms had to wait multiple hours for one battleground during the single-server time, I'm not sure how much that does for the community. I can see your point though on an active PvP community constantly seeing the same people around, but overall being able to run the BGs without waiting a long time is probably the better system which we hope will happen with the new dungeon system.

If there is a shortage of tanks on basically every server
and there is a shortage of healers on every server
and there is a surplus of DPS on basically every server to the point where you constantly see LF2M tank + healer in trade chat...

Why do people think a cross realm LFG system is going to solve anything at all in terms of making it quicker to get groups if you are a DPS, the same shortage of tanks is going to exist and the same shortage of healers is going to exist. Sure there are now 10x the tanks to choose from and 10x the healers to choose from, but there are also 10x the DPS to choose from meaning DPS is still going to spend the majority of their time in Dalaran waiting for a healer or tank.

Really the only people who might benefit are healers and tanks who will now have a much larger pool of DPS to draw from and can be more picky getting better geared DPS rather then just whoever happens to be sitting in the LFG channel.

For the reasons I posted in my previous posts it should improve things.

Also keep in mind that another issue players regularly experience is the "oh, I already ran that dungeon so I can't do it with you" situation. With the random heroic system as the "daily" dungeon, players can still help if they are able to assuming you aren't shooting for a specific dungeon - but lately the daily dungeon tends to be the most popular, especially if you will only do one dungeon that day.
