If the information is deemed accurate, the investigation will be dropped.
This action is taken because we at Blizzard Entertainment take these sales

Correct!

Also, I'd recommend taking a look at our Fake Emails From "Blizzard" sticky (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=965511383&sid=1). Within, there's a list of emails in current circulation, as well tips to help you prevent receiving them in the future. :)

On a similar note, is there any place/point to reporting scam websites?

Absolutely! If you wish to bring a potentially malicious site to our attention, you may do so via webform:

Select "World of Warcraft" and then "Hacks, Cheats, and Exploits" from each respective drop-down box. From there, select "Website that scams users" from the third drop-down and your realm, and then complete the requested information fields as they appear.

This will send the information to our Hacks team for further review. :)

Thanks for the help, I forwarded the email.... its still scary that it ended with @blizzard.com how do they do that?

It's incredibly easy to spoof the internal From address in an email.

Opening the header will show you the true route and sender.
