I've done a RP on livejournal - there's a few community hubs (everyone in that RP group is able to progress in them) and you flesh out your character in your personal journal.
The last table top RP I did was in an Eclipse Phase, and it was awesome.

I would love to experience that at some point! Before I moved to Austin my favorite storm incident was at a beach that has some natural caves. Sitting under the alcove watching the bolts strike was awe-inspiring…. But storms out here are nothing like what they were out in Austin – something I truly do miss.
I really think I would love to see that some day.
