Banned for 'buying gold'

Why would someone be banned for buying gold without any noncompetitive AH listings, item, or gold transfers?

Reason I am asking is my sister (whose account I pay for - and amazingly just reupped the 6 month) was banned for this - she has no credit card or money so it is not possible period. There is also no notice of foulplay with the account.

Only thing I can think of is problems with the battle.net merger even though she went to a battle.net account months ago.

Any other reports of this?

Yes she has already submitted a dispute for this - I just find it extremely weird that they would ban account without proof of wrongdoing.

The email associated with the account stated that it was from buying gold.

Realm - Stormscale
Toon - Belariie

As already mentioned, other infractions can fall under that same broad category.

She should appeal this via email to Account Administration at [email protected] if she wishes to appeal. If she happens to use a proxy, that is a handy bit of information to include as well.

I do wish you both the best.
