Battle.net Accounts and Character Transfers

Hi,

I currently pay for two WoW accounts. One I use myself, and the other I let my son (a minor) play. I am contemplating how to setup the accounts with battlenet. My question is two fold.

1.) We both have multiple characters that we play and occasionally we get bored and like to play something different. In the past, I've used the paid character transfer service to move characters between the two accounts. If I setup a separate battlenet account for each of us, will this still be possible?

2.) I see that there are plans to offer parental controls with the battlenet accounts in the future. Will I still have parental controls if my son has his own battlenet account?

Yes. You are able to transfer characters between two Battle.net accounts if they are registered under the same name. There is, however, a caveat. You will be unable to transfer characters between Battle.net account unless the source account has been merged with the Battle.net for at least 30 days. In other words, if you merged the account into a Battle.net account today, you would be unable to transfer a character off the Battle.net account until November 30th.

The World of Warcraft parental controls should still apply to an account that has been merged. The parental controls you are referring to, however, are an expansion and improvement on the current parental controls. We hope to see this upgraded feature made available to our players in the very near future.
