she said donaldtrump is an offensive name. beargrylls is pretty common. this is discrimination
She did not. She stated that he was a high profile political figure and typically political figures are not permitted. Beargrylls is famous, and on an RP realm may not be permitted, but on a normal realm it would likely be allowed, assuming there weren't any other mitigating factors.
the rep was pretty blatant about the fact that his name specifically is offensive.
No, she wasn't. The only thing she may have stated was offensive would have been when you starting using inappropriate language and calling her names. Even after that, she went out of her way to offer you a refund.
too bad they wasted my time and money when they didnt check upon creation. that would be a different issue. but to let me play til 43
It likely was not on the list at that time. I am sorry for what frustration this may have caused you. It is never our intention to cause you to be inconvenienced, but if a name is found to violate policy, regardless of when it was created, we do what we can to make sure that those policies are enforced.
because im trying to put it out there that they tactfully let me boost then shut my name down.
To be clear, the boost isn't purchased for an individual character, it is purchased on the account. When you use the boost is when those checks would apply.
currently 8 toons named barakobama
Generally speaking the Armory should not be used to search for possibly inappropriate names. What you see may not reflect the facts of the situation. Such as, the majority of the characters that show up in the Armory for that name hasn't been logged in for months, if not years. It doesn't show if they've been reported for a bad name, if they are currently flagged for a rename, etc...
If you see someone in-game with a name that you believe violates policy, report it.
and then not condemn many other toons for the same "infraction"
Our policies are primarily reactive by nature. If the characters have not been reported, they likely haven't been reviewed.
Your issue is more unique as you used a character service, which when it tried to validate the name found it was on our bad name list. If one of the other characters you are referring to were to do the same thing they would have a similar result.
I hope that provided clarification.
