No. This Is being pushed way out of proportion and is majorly untrue. I've been watching and reading the social media comments and it frankly seems to be claims by other individuals stating and repeating "They are receiving death threats!" with no backing. Even articles written about the criticism (yes already some articles up...) have stated "allegedly receiving death threats", once again, with no backing. It seems to be just another case of social media angst where people say rather cruel remarks, that they generally have no truth, and people take those words to show some form of victimization.

The fact that the concept of death threats is being taken and used so commonly by those players is what is really appalling.

Even one of the writers, Terran Gregory, has been adding fuel to this fire by proclaiming the comments "horrific" and further illustrating the rumor of death threats. He calls the criticism unprofessional...yet his very act of retribution by his behavior suggests he is behaving unprofessionally.

Please stop trying to spread the rumor of near endless and -real- death threats upon the writers. Criticize their work as you like, you are entitled to it.

Here's a blue post to clarify yes, this did happen, and it unfortunately is true.

They take a few crazy messages

Please don't try to minimize and trivialize threats of violence. Unfortunately we cannot just simply chalk it up to passionate people every time. Sometimes people take it too far. It has happened before, it happened yesterday. It will unfortunately happen again. This isn't okay. It will never be an okay reaction.

Don't get me wrong 99.99% of you are absolutely wonderful but every community has those outliers that do attack people personally because they didn't like how a story or design decision went and threaten people involved.

It's easy to read that above statement and think "Nobody would do that because its not rational", however the reality is unfortunately true. Some people do this and its important to call out that it happens and to identify the behavior and report it accordingly. We shouldn't have to worry about our safety when it comes to this but it has to always be a thought. We don't know if this person who threatens us is right down the street. Security teams do exist and obviously have a purpose.

Don't some jobs these days REQUIRE you to have an active social media account?

Blizzard doesn't require it at all, in fact most people choose not to have one or don't use it very much for obvious reasons. It's a powerful tool that gives everyone almost direct access to you. You can easily see why people wouldn't want it.

Please stop trying to create some falsehood that everything said negative is okay. You can criticize the work, and that is totally welcomed. Tell us what you think of the direction, where you hope it will go, your theories, etc. we love hearing it! But let me make it clear again, do not threaten or personally attack those creating what you love, there is a difference between criticism and personal attacks/threats.
