Cross-Realm Stormwind?

I've just recently been noticing that I'm being phased... inside a capital city, this being Stormwind for example.

I'm from Stormrage, and the city is usually bustling. It's awesome to see and have always loved it. Now, I'm being phased or CRZ'd with other people that brings the city population from 50+ to like 20 or less. It's so dead in the city now... What the heck is going on? What's with all the phasing going on? It's even hit the city, of which it looks like a ghost town.

I can see why this was posted in the Tech Support channel but overall this sounds more like feedback for our developers and QA to look into. I'm moving it to the General channel so the community can comment and the pros/cons of this feature.
