No idea if this is the right place or not. How do you get rid of the health and mana bar that pops up in the middle of your screen? Is there an option in Interface I overlooked?

Assuming you are using the base UI here, but there is an option to toggle this feature at:

Esc->Interface->Names->Uncheck "Personal Resource Display"
