Stuck Characters on Alpha

Hi all,

As you're probably aware, we don't have active Customer Service support on Alpha/Beta/PTR realms; their main focus is on the live, retail game.

That said, we know that it's really a bummer if your character gets stuck while testing, especially if you've invested a lot of time on them or are halfway through a zone.

So while I can't promise anything, if you post here with your character name, your realm, and a brief description of the problem we'll try to help you out. I can't guarantee we'll be able to fix your problem, nor can I guarantee a rapid response.

Quest "Enemies of Air" I have done this quest several times. It 1st broke after a patch where I had already completed 2 of the 4 mission necessary. After that I couldn't get it to progress no matter how many times I completed the missions. I even tried abandoning the quest and try again. It's preventing me from progressing in the Class Hall quest line.

I'm not sure if I'm able to fix this one, you might just have bad quest data if you got halfway through and then we changed it via a patch. I moved you to a safe location, but I can't help with the quest from here.

Alright, I was able to help all the stuck characters that have posted so far.

Won't be able to help over the weekend, but I'll try to help next week.

Others have already posted this, but as a general rule, repeatedly logging into the character can often unstuck them, as can checking after an hour or two. It just really comes down to how they're stuck. If we accidentally stuck a graveyard just slightly under the terrain, you tend to get stuck in an infinite loop of disconnection once you get sent to that graveyard, which is a bummer.

For some reason I was ported to Broken Shore and it crashes the game any time I log in

Moved to you somewhere maybe safer; try deleting your cache folder if you keep crashing.

just says world server down when i try to log on.

I tried, but I can't manage to save Rocko; I get the same error when attempting to login to him. It's possible it'll fix itself next build, but I can't promise.

Any idea where/when this happened? Would love to research more.

Created 2 builds ago and used the character creation Boost to Level 100 option that was there for that week.
Could not log on to the character: Error was

You cannot log in until the character boost process you initiated is completed.

Tried deleting character: Character just won't delete.
Managed a race change from Blood elf to night elf, but still couldn't log on, cannot effect any other changes as they require a character log in.

Unfortunately I can't fix characters stuck in boost. It might clear up eventually, but they'll probably be stuck forever or until we do a character wipe.

Alright, all caught up, helped everybody I could up to this post.

I don't think moving your characters would necessarily resolve the 90% loading bar issue, that's usually after a server crash (it should self-resolve eventually, unfortunately not always right away).

A lot of you were able to self-resolve over time and didn't need my help, which is awesome.

I'm not really able to help with broken phasing; that kind of stuff requires a new build, and depending on if we changed the quest, your character might be completely broken; unfortunately it's not always easily fixed. If you've got a character like that, I'd recommend checking every new build to see if your problem was fixed.

Also I should warn everybody, like in previous tests for Expansions, we'll likely do a character wipe at some point; it's just the nature of things. I'll try to give a heads up before it happens, but I'd recommend not getting too attached to Alpha characters.
