But Blizzard, you now have a maintenance Period that is now lasting 3 times longer than you predicted. you have been doing maintenance and running WOW for 11+ years. One would think you knew what you were doing by now.
It's like going to a restaurant - Ordering food, being told its on its way when it does not arrive in good time, and then still be waiting and waiting to eat, after being told a second time your food is still on the way. No-one accepts that.
I'm going to guess the cause of all this is the same problems that most organizations decide upon. Insufficient Staff in both numbers and Trained Skills and likewise with people managing such operations. After all making Obscene amounts of Profits is top priority Right?. We must appease the shareholders and not the customers paying the company the money that makes you very profitable.
I'm a west coast player here, so even after a 2 hour maintenance becomes SIX! . .(a quite sad end result) . I should still have plenty of game time so its not all terrible. But east coast US players however get less game time today.
Perhaps Blizzard, you might wish to start such maintenance times with US servers, earlier in the day, when most US Server players are asleep?. You used to do that, starting sometimes as early as 1am PST.
I'm sure the game will be up soon, at some point, but you really need to get your act together. Such outages in game play on wow to the degree today, just make Blizzard look like real amateurs, and not the professional organization you would like to be perceived as. Set yourselves sensible time Schedules, instead of telling your loyal customer base information that is nowhere near Reality.
As mentioned already, you've been running this game for 11+ years now. You really should know what you are doing and have learned from the multitude of errors and unforeseen circumstances that have transpired before.
