Should I go ahead and quit?

Here's the deal.

I get to play about 1-2 hours a day. Because of this i've yet to do a single instance, ive got pretty craptastic gear and really no hope of getting anything better besides maybe pvp honor gear.

With my time limit on playing I cant get into any guild runs because they take too long to get started and I definitely cant do pug runs with my crappy gear.

Should I go ahead and quit since having a lvl 80 in quest greens is about as good as its going to get?

(used to do high end raiding back in vanilla, but had to quit right after TBC came out)

First and foremost, this is definitely an important question to ask yourself:
Q u o t e:
Are you having fun?

I will say though that the majority of my play sessions are not longer than 1-2 hours in a single day. There are usually at least 1-2 days a week I don't play at all; and 1-2 days a week I play for 3 hours in one sitting (raid nights).

It's very possible to run 2-3 Heroic instances in a 2-hour setting (even in your gear) and get some very good upgrades in a relatively short while.

If you're that concerned that your gear is not good enough to even find pick-up groups, there are several good quest and reputation rewards available in Icecrown and Storm Peaks which do not require assistance from others and can be obtained in a reasonable amount of time. There are also some good crafted or Bind-on-Equip items out there that can be created or purchased. There are so many ways these days to catch up to the pack, so to speak.

Depending on the server, it may take as long as he has to play JUST to get into a group. It doesn't sound like he's having any fun anymore =(

Fortunately patch 3.3 should largely alleviate that issue.
