i recently recruited my friend into wow, and was wondering if he activated a real wow account now, would we still get the recruit a friend benefits? or do we need to wait until the 10 trial days are over?

So long as your friend upgrades his current Recruit-a-Friend trial account, you'll still receive the Recruit-a-Friend bonuses.
