Raid ID and new LFG tool

I have a question in regards to joining a raid via the new 3.3 LFG tool
have done many pug raids and usually they all fail at the first boss or shortly after.

so if i join a 25man ulduar raid and the raid leader gives upp and basically everyone else starts dropping out

how do i join another 25 man ulduar run if I'm saved to the previous fail run?

how will LFG fix this problem?

We are working on making a more inviting interface to handle the Looking for Raid system (we know anything is better than trade chat, heh) but it won't be cross-server like the new Dungeon System.

Can we expect a cross-realm version eventually? Cataclysm?

I know some people have already pointed it out, but raids are a bit different and trickier to handle than normal dungeons. That said we are focusing on the 5 player Dungeon System in patch 3.3 and can consider other changes in the future.

Out of curiousity, why not overhaul the Raid ID system? It's old and dated, and has been an issue towards a more casual approach to raiding on the whole.

Rather than being locked to the entire dungeon in one fell swoop, why not be locked to each individual boss (essentially each boss is their own raid ID). If your raid downs Flame Leviathan, you can come back with a different raid as much as you want, but you are locked out from anything that drops from each successive kill of Flame Leviathan. If you clear the entire Ulduar instance...well why are you coming back??

Granted, this would require a whole new interface for the Raid system, so that raids and raid leaders have control over which ID in what condition is being used (for example deciding if your raid wants to use a pre-existing raid ID and which one, or a brand new one...etc etc). The benefit is that random groups or semi-oranized events can occur with more freedom and you don't have to worry about being locked from another raid tomorrow or later in the week.

You could treat raids much more like Heroic groups.

You kind of answer yourself in your statement. While I'm not guaranteeing any changes in the future, if we would like to make changes they would like be more on the 'overhaul' level than just minor tweaks and overhauls take time.
