Changing Name on account

I know there are at least two situations where the name on an account can be changed; Marriage and transferring an account from a parent to a newly non-minor. I'm wondering if my situation fits the second case.

I made an account about 2 years ago and started leveling a character up. My step father brought up the fact that a minor cannot have their own account so he made one for me. Two problems I foresee here: 1. My step father and I don't share the same last name and 2. We had just moved from Canada to the US and he was under the impression that a minor in the US was considered 21, and I was 19 at the time, and if I have to fax in a scan of my ID or something, that'll become obvious. That basically means that he couldn't make me an account in the first place and the account should be his I believe.

Anyway I'd appreciate some insight on this before I call billing and end up screwing over myself some how. I'd like to get my characters from my old account to my new one, but am not able to unless I get one of the two names changed.

Given the situation as I understand it, Daheal, it is unlikely that we would be able to change the name on the account in question from your step father's to your own. However, I am unable to provide a definitive yes or no in this case via the forums. Therefore, it may be worthwhile for you and your step father to contact the Billing and Account Services department to have this situation reviewed for any possible options.

The Character Transfer system currently allows for characters to be transferred between any World of Warcraft accounts that have been merged to the same Battle.net account. However, please keep in mind that World of Warcraft accounts continue to be considered nontransferable, and you are required to agree that you are the sole user of an account prior to merging it with a Battle.net account.
