"Stealing" via the neutral auction house?

Me and a friend were attempting to transfer an item across factions via the neutral auction house. Upon reaching Booty Bay, we find a level 6 orc rogue standing by the auction house. We suspect him to be a fisher, so I put up a few rather valuable items on the auction house. Nothing I wouldn't mind losing. The items stay up on the auction house for a good 5 minutes, for 1 copper each, so we suspect him to be afk, alt tabbed, or something else. Still being careful, we put the item we wanted to transfer, a Nobles Deck, for 1 copper as well. My friend mashes the search button and attempts to buy the item, but this fisher got to it first. It was taken so quickly, it seems impossible to do without the help of a program.

Now, i've done my fair share of neutral auction house trading. I know this was a popular thing back when bottom scanner was still around, but as far as I know, this add on was discontinued, or banned. I know that this is not against the terms of service.

This "fisher" will not reply to ingame tells, and will jump every 2 minutes, 50 seconds (we timed it). These seem like actions either a bot or a complete loser. I would like this to be looked into, as well as my Nobles Deck back.

We will be more than happy to look into this as a possible bot, Wildbloom, but you already know this is not a supported transaction. You put up something for 1c and it's fair game, first come, first serve.

Transferring that way isn't prohibited, but it's not supported either.

Honestly, it's best to pay a bit in the AH fee and not low-ball an item to try to avoid it. Far less chance of it getting scooped up.

There are 3 neutral AHs, it could have been a player at any one of them looking for just such an opportunity as you presented.

If you think you've noticed a 'bot' however, we do appreciate those being reported and will look into it.

What we decided to do was, since he's botting, kill the auctioneer, and use the other one in booty bay. Too late now, but for the future it seems like a good idea, unless there are others in the other auction houses. :p

Don't forget there are 3 of those, and players could be at any one of them waiting to pounce.

Of course. No harm done I suppose, now anyway. I can make that money back pretty quickly. But still, I would look into this guys.

<removed>, if this is the place to put it. We talked to a few others about it, and they've had the same problems with him. >:(

No, we don't call folks out here, Wild. Naming them specifically in a petition is of course totally appropriate.
