TOO MANY BUTTONS!!!

How many abilities does the average class have? 30? 40? Each one of them either needs to be accounted for by a bind, place on the action bar or inclusion within a macro. How about some consolidation to make the standard UI work well with a MANAGEABLE amount of buttons. We should not NEED to write macros to create basic functionality within the game. Macros should simply be there to enhance a well-designed UI, not to compensate for a UI that was clearly not designed to handle the huge amount of spells/abilities each class has.

I think WoW outgrew its UI design a long, long time ago...and yes there are mods you can download and install to help with the UI but we should not have to do that. The devs should pay a lot more thought into the UI synergy with the multitude of abilities.

I would like to see some kind of consolidated action bar that replaces a lot of stand-alone abilities with dynamic abilities that "proc" or "enhance" basic abilities. For example, with a druid, rather than have ferocious bite be its own ability, make it "replace" mangle after you build up combo points on your target. Same with rake -> rip. That way one icon can activate both abilities, both abilities are still usable.

Another thing you could do, is make it so that using one ability activates another ability that must be used within a short window of time...and I think mage's hot streak ability is a great example of this type of functionality already in the game, but rather than make pyroblast its own ability, fireball should become pyroblast during the hot streak proc, and pyroblast itself should simply be a passive ability that buffs the base fireball ONLY during hot streak.

This would simplify the game for ALL classes, by using this type of dynamic UI with a purposely reduced number of abilities. Not only would it simplify things, it would make the game more fun to play for everyone, since you could react faster and your performance in the game would be more consistent among classes.

This would not change the fundamental "feel" of the classes either, it just changes the way abilities are presented within the UI to make them more efficient. I think some classes, like hunters, would benefit from this type of change quite a bit.
