Why Tank?

So, I decided to brush off my tank a while back, and got her to 80, I was excited to start tanking for the first time and I remember having to do so much research, and then spend thousands of gold only to have to start at the bottom of the heroic chain on Utgarde Keep and Nexus and climb up the ladder. I've heard your more valuable to the team if your a tank. But what that ends up meaning is that if something goes wrong, whether it was your fault or not, the fingers get pointed at you. I've also heard everyone needs you for instances, but I don't remember having trouble finding instances as DPS.


So why become a tank?

Tanks are a cornerstone of a successful team so it can feel good to know you are that important. It can vary per realm, but some have more tanks than others - in some cases you may find groups really easily compared to other realms. It is also nice as you generally have less competition for gear.
