Why the discrepancy in griffin costs?

Why is the white armored griffin 19 times more expensive than the other armored griffins?

There is no discrepancy in their unarmored counter parts.

By making the price higher it will be more rare and therefore more special of a mount to have.

But then the conundrum arises where if everyone has easy access to the mount, everyone would think that everyone else would buy it, and therefore would not buy it, so that only a few people would have it.

..or am I thinking too much into it?

Definitely thinking too much, but I guess you can boil it down to everybody can perceive things differently. Either way, it's there if you like the way it looks and/or just really want it. I recommend the traveler's tundra mammoth for uber-nerdiness or the hog/chopper for style points.

It costs more to make it rare and because it is rare people will pay more for it!

I kept reading this line again and again, it was like I couldn't stop and my head almost exploded.

Anyway, I'll just say 'sure' to your statement.

Another interesting fact, "No one drives in New York, because there is too much traffic."

But I would like to see an Armored Ebon Griffin. The only proper griffin mount for a Death Knight.

You already have the skeletal gryphon, what more do you need?!?

Hey, my mammoth is NOT nerdy. I love him. He is warm and cuddly and cute. Plus, he has vendors too, which makes him practical as well as adorable--the best of both worlds.

I'm going to hug him right now. I hope that you cry yourself to sleep at night, alone without a 'nerdy' mammoth to love!

I got my mammoth in January '09, sup now?

mammoth mounts are just too big.

Just one of the reasons why I love them so much. :)

I have both, does that make me a stylish nerd?

I have both too so I would say either stylish nerd or just really cool.
