I've read several posts about race changes where it has been stated that the feature simply was not ready to be released because it was still in development, however this is not true. I'ts a lie.

You see race changes to characters already exist but only when you switch factions. So Blizz is saying that it can do race changes with faction changes but not a race change by itself?

False.

Is there any chance you could at least tell us why it's taking so long to get the Race Change up? We all got our hopes up when we saw the option at Account Management with the Coming Soon disclaimer. :(

We're still working on it. We want to make sure the conversions are as smooth as possible and the infrastructure will support such changes, as is the case with the faction change service. Contrary to the original poster's claims, the conversion tables for changing races within one's own faction are completely different from the faction change service. This requires separate development time. We're also busy ensuring our Battle.net account service is fully fleshed out to support the entirety of the World of Warcraft population as well as these paid services.

The only thing better than offering a service people want is making sure that service works when people want it. ;)
