Account Hacked - Battlenet.

I've been playing WoW on the same account for just under 5 years now and have never had an issue with people getting into my account, but I just switched to Battlenet or whatever yesterday, and this morning a friend called and woke me up to tell me that there was someone on my account. They had made their level 1 alt the leader of my guild and took everything out of 5 slots of guild bank space. Vendored my gear, deleted my bags, and stole the gold from all 10 of my level 80s. Fortunately, I still have my main's gear, and probably only because it's pvp gear and couldn't be sold.

I'm wondering how possible it would be to get all of my stuff back, or even some of it. Need someone who's had this happen before to tell me how they handle it.

Welcome to the Customer Service Forum, folks.

Q u o t e:
My friend and I are digging up a lot of posts from the support forum (where I suppose my post should've been made). Apparently, there are so many people with recent account issues that blizzard is even a bit overwhelmed.

They're all -very- recent. Meaning this is probably turning into something. The first link is to a post where a guy has 3 friends, and each of them were hacked after switching to battlenet this week.

As someone who addresses these concerns on a daily basis, I can tell you that there is no visible trend when it comes to Battle.net accounts and compromises. We have not seen an increase in the number of compromise reports or a larger percentage of compromises occurring to Battle.net accounts.

It's possible that you're only noticing trends now because you yourself have experienced the issue -- this is only natural. In fact, I've experienced something similar recently. I purchased a new car a few months back. Before I purchased the car, I didn't notice any similar makes and models on the road, but now it seems like every other car is a near perfect replica of my own. There was no sudden increase in similar car sales as far as I'm aware; I'm just noticing them now more than ever.

While I understand your frustration and desire to find an answer for why you were compromised, placing blame on the Battle.net merge will only prevent you from identifying the true cause of your compromise.

I strongly encourage you to review the following threads for more information on how to secure your computer and report your account as compromised:
