Hey, so this afternoon I found out merges are going to be mandatory, so I set to making a battle.net warcraft account.

However, when I click the verification link in the e-mail sent me for the battle.net account, I get this error.

"E-mail Verification Failed

This Battle.net account has not been verified. This may have been caused by repeated unsuccesful verification attempts, or by clicking an expired e-mail confirmation link. You may wish to send another copy of the verification e-mail through Battle.net account management."

As I've said before, this probably has something to do with probably the flood of people, hundreds of thousands of people probably, switching to Battle.net in a very short time.

Of course we won't hear that from the canned responses of the blues, but that's what I think.

I wasn't aware that we gave canned responses. I suppose I could come up with some if you preferred, Tigris.

Can you update your forum details with the e-mail address you are using for your Battle.net account? I'll need that information to check it out. Click on the Options button under the picture of your posting avatar.

As I'd mentioned that I'm having the same issue, will you be looking into my problem as well? The email address for both accounts is the same.

Could you also update your forum e-mail address, Martika. I understand that you claim that both e-mails are the same but it helps to get confirmation from two separate locations.

I'm sure you think I should be patient, but as someone about to spend $40 on your product, I really don't think I should HAVE to be patient. I think you, or somebody, should be on the ball about resolving this...

We have people "on the ball about resolving this". Wishing doesn't make it true though. The issue is being investigated if I have any advice or updates I will pass it along.

I am sorry for what frustration this has caused you, Martika.

Although our Technicians continue to look into these failed verifications, the initial results seem to indicate it is simply that the system is extremely busy and that is causing the failure.

At the moment I'm afraid we only we only have two options. You could wait until later, as the number of people attempting to create and/or merge accounts lowers, you should be able to use the verification link.

You could contact our Billing department directly, they should be able to verify your information over the phone. Granted, Mondays are extremely busy but they are open for another 3 hours.

You can call 1 (800) 592 5499 (1-800-59-BLIZZARD) Monday through Friday 8AM-8PM (PDT) for live representation.
Australian users should please call 1-800-041-378 if the standard 800 line does not work.

If you have been unable to verify your Battle.net account, you also would not have been able to merge your World of Warcraft account to it, so you should be able to play normally for now.

I am having the same problem and I have a stupid question How do I resend the email if the first one failed there is a Verify this account button but I have clicked it and Not gotten any new mail is there another place to resend or is the system just slow right now?

As the cause of the verification failures seem to be related to a high volume of requests it is likely the cause of the verification e-mails not being sent again is related. You shouldn't need to request a new verification e-mail though, as far as I know you can use that link again to attempt verification.

I put up a sticky about the main issues, any new information will be posted there.

Just late entry but same scenario:

The exact same thing happened to me:

Scenario Summary:

Create merge and success
Get email verification
Click and it doesnt work.
Wait and click again later time (20min) and says failed due to mult attempts or expired email...reverify email.
Attempt several times to accomplish the reverificaiton process and it says an email has been sent to me I never see another one in my inbox.
Tried adding the domain and the no reply to the contact list but still no further emails received.

Indiglo, you posted this in another thread as well. :)

As I said in the previous thread, if you continue to experience an issue in verifying the account creation you may want to try contacting our Billing department during business hours.

You can call 1 (800) 592 5499 (1-800-59-BLIZZARD) Monday through Friday 8AM-8PM (PDT) for live representation.
Australian users should please call 1-800-041-378 if the standard 800 line does not work.

Yay, because of something that messed up on your end, now we have to WAIT on the phone and listen to the horrible customer service... I look forward to more and more delays... since thats what Blizz is extremely good at..

...awaits sarcastic response... professionalism ftw

:)

You do not need to wait on the phone, Inkursion, that is completely optional. Merging, right this minute, is not required either, there is still plenty of time.

Yes, there have been some issues and our staff is looking into it. As my stickied thread states so far the issues seem to be related to a very high number of people attempting to create and validate their Battle.net accounts.
