72 Hour Ban for Exploitative Activity

Hi,

Just got kicked out of WoW moments ago on two of my accounts and received the following notification in my email for both of my accounts:

Account Action: 72 Hour Suspension
Reason for Action: Terms of Use Violation -- Exploitative Activity: Abuse of the Economy

This suspension happened because one or more characters on the account were identified
exchanging, or contributing to the exchange of, in-game property (items or gold) for
"real-world" currency.

Both accounts are under my name and both are registered on the same email so I received 2 emails simultaneously with the same account action and reason for action.

I have never abused the game economy nor have I engaged in any exploitative activity so I have no idea why I have received this suspension. I have also not been buying or selling gold for real world currency. What baffles me is why did two of my accounts get suspended for the exact same reason?

Along with the suspension emails I also received new temporary passwords in another email so I can also assume the accounts may have been suspended to prevent a hack attempt but this is not the case as I was logged into the game on both accounts when they were suspended.

I googled the reason for action and it came up with a thread from earlier today where the poster had his/her suspension lifted quickly by posting a realm and character name so hopefully this information will help:

Account 1:
Realm - Blackrock, Name - Lavabolt

Account 2:
Realm - Blackrock, Name - Doggiebag

Please help me as I've done nothing wrong that warrants the suspension as listed in the reason for action.

Thanks.

Edit: I use lowerping and wowtunnels (ping lowering services) on both accounts to get my ping to under 200ms. Without it I'm usually in the 500ms zone. I'm from Australia.

Unfortunately, there's not a lot that I'm able to add to this discussion for the moment. I do feel compelled to point out that the Customer Service forum isn't a means to by-pass the Account Administration email queue though. For example: occasionally an issue will be raised before us that is already under investigation, and thus it appears as though because the post occurred here that the situation was resolved due to the post. While we're always happy to investigate, provide guidance and offer help when we can, those of us who post on the Customer Service forum have no authority to remove the suspension from an account. These matters are exclusively within the purview of our Account Administration staff.

If you've submitted an email to [email protected] expressing your concerns in detail, then you're already on the right track.

Good luck!
