So the point of this world event is to fly around 4 continents and click on instant complete quests and blast off some rockets?

I can get behind the rockets, but spending hours flying around and clicking on NPCs and going into old dungeons in order to get the achievement is dumb.

Ive seen several threads about how people are enjoying this world event and I am seriously in shock. What exactly is fun about it?

By far the dumbest and most boring world event.

tldr; Lunar Festival Blows but I want my violet proto

Meh. I loved all the events as a first-time player. Gave me a reason to explore and what have you. /shakes cane

While it's a much bigger world today, I would agree that the Lunar Festival in particular is an awesome opportunity to get to know the world. (Along with the Midsummer Fire Festival for those who miss out on this). Since the Elders are widespread, it's also a good opportunity to finish a majority of "World Explorer" if you haven't already.

There's also a couple of fun items to grab from the Coin of Ancestry vendors like:

Lunar Lantern / Festival Lantern
Festive Black Pant Suit / Festive Pink Dress

If you are more into the story of Warcraft, the event is also deeply ingrained into Night Elf, Tauren, and Druid culture, which gives ample opportunity to dive into their lore, some of which will be explored more come Legion.

Take the time to honor your Elders and enjoy! As the Pandaren would say, "Slow down! Life is to be savoured!"
