Blizzard Post

November can only mean one thing: BlizzCon is here! There’s much to see and do, and we have our eye on what the community's up to, too. In this November edition of This Month in WoW, we look forward to some of the more remarkable things going on in the World of Warcraft community.

BlizzCon 2016

Opening Week has concluded, and the top World of Warcraft 3v3 Arena teams in the world are headed to Anaheim for the final rounds of the 2016 World Championship at BlizzCon X on November 4 and 5. We’ll be broadcasting the opening ceremony and this year's esports tournaments—including the World of Warcraft Arena World Championship—on BlizzCon.com for free. You won’t want to miss a minute of this year’s action!

Order a BlizzCon Virtual Ticket, and you’ll be able to watch all of the developer panels on the Main Stage and Panel Stage.

Attending BlizzCon in person? We have a variety of events and activities for waiting for you on the show floor and upstairs in the newly relocated Darkmoon Faire, including the Creative Collective stage, the Voice Actor Stage, Hearthstone Tavern, the Community Amphitheater, and more.

Holidays

Day of the Dead [November 1-3]

Let us cherish and honor the ghostly presence of those we have lost, so that they might eat and drink and smile and know that they are loved. Dance with Catrina, and you will be transformed into a skeleton and unlock the Dead Man's Party achievement.

Purchase some Orange Marigolds from Chapman and use them to see the otherwise invisible spirits waiting in graveyards. Bake (or buy) some Bread of the Dead and give it to a Cheerful Spirit to kick off the Grateful Dead quest and unlock a new pet—the Macabre Marionette.

Pilgrim’s Bounty [November 21-28]

Even during hard times, the Pilgrim’s Bounty celebration emerges across the lands of Azeroth, bringing with it the opportunity to reflect and give thanks for the nourishment the land has provided. This season is the perfect occasion to brush up on your cooking skills while sharing in a veritable cornucopia of delicious offerings found on the communal dining tables located outside capital cities.

There’s also no better time to go on a wild turkey hunt, or, should wild turkeys prove too elusive, transform friend and foe into tasty turkey targets. This is your only chance all year to obtain the Bush Chicken and Plump Turkey pets, as well as the title ‘Pilgrim’ for completing all nine holiday-only Achievements.

Darkmoon Faire [November 6-13]

The wondrous and mystical Darkmoon Faire returns to Azeroth on November 6, and if you haven’t completed all of Silas Darkmoon’s new Darkmoon Races, now’s the time! Test your speed and agility on a variety of racing mounts as you dodge electrifying obstacles and zip all over Darkmoon Island for rewards and achievements. You may also want to take a few moments to be a kid again by going for a ride on the new Darkmoon Seesaw.

The faire continues to be one of the best ways to acquire heirloom gear, and don’t forget all of the toys, mounts, and pets that can only be gotten here. Get in that cannon!

Bonus Events:

The Bonus Events system consists of a rotating schedule of different activities that each grant a passive bonus to players and offer a once-per-event quest with a noteworthy reward for accomplishing a related goal. Check out the Adventure Guide in-game for a direct link to active Bonus Events, which allows you to easily accept any associated quests.

Pet Battle Bonus Event – November 1-8
While this event is active, your pets will earn experience at triple the usual rate.

Timewalking Dungeon Event: Wrath of the Lich King — November 8-15
While this event is active, players level 81 or higher may access a special Timewalking Dungeon Finder queue, which scales players and their items down to revisit past dungeons from the Wrath of the Lich King expansion. While Timewalking, bosses will yield loot appropriate for a player’s natural level.

Arena Skirmishes Bonus Event — November 15-22
While this event is active, Arena Skirmishes will award Honor at an increased rate.

World Quest Bonus Event — November 22-29
While this event is active, completing Broken Isles World Quests awards bonus reputation with the appropriate faction.
