How long is info saved after I quit WoW?

I may have an opportunity to travel overseas for an extended period. During that time, I would want to enjoy myself and see the sights and such, so I wouldn't have time to play wow. If I were to quit playing for say 6-12 months, should I decide to resume playing, would my character information be saved?

The account and character information is saved in our databases indefinitely, Zhaan.

As Bubbajoe mentioned, you may wish to consider adding an authenticator to the account. Accounts do not need to be active in order to have an authenticator on them. This will add another layer of security to the account to prevent a compromise from occurring while you are away.

Enjoy yourself and safe travels!

My recommendation: Call billing and lock your account with at least one day of gameplay left.

This is typically not a request they would be able to honor, Youintrouble. Accounts are usually locked when found in violation of our rules, not by player request.
