Hey blues i was wondering if you could put a ban on sexual discrimination because I've been hearing cases of people booting other people out of raids and dungeon because of their sex and i was wondering is it possible to get banned for that?

I'm sorry, Flamezz, but anyone may invite or reject anyone for whatever reason they wish. This applies to guilds, groups, etc. . . . We may not agree with their opinion but they have the right to it.

Actually it depends how you voice those "opinions."

Exactly. If they otherwise use inappropriate language or subject matter to convey their views, we will take appropriate action if this behavior is reported to us.

Discrimination should be against the rules. Being unable to enforce the rule in the vast majority of cases shouldn't affect whether something is officially against Blizzard policy.

How exactly would that work? If something is against our policies it means that to do it could result in penalties applied to your account.

You are suggesting that we dictate who someone must group with or invite into their guild or otherwise place someone into a guild without their permission.

I can imagine "Blizzard, X player isn't joining my group because I'm Y". *Blizzard places player in group* "Ok, guys, you need to go do Stonecore, I'll be watching."

Reporting Player: "Isn't this fun? You are my new best friend, Blizzard says so."

No, that isn't a likely situation, but that could be based on some of the posts I've seen....

This is a social game, you are likely to encounter other players that you may not get along with or otherwise like, your options though are not to be around that person. Why you don't like that person or want to group with them is entirely irrelevant. Such behavior is prohibited by law in regards to employment, consumer interaction, housing, etc..., not if you get into X group/guild.

Otherwise, such discrimination is typically deterred by social regulation enforced by peers.

If they use inappropriate language or context, that is what we can and will do something about, if reported.

im not trolling... im posting a valid reason for the occurrances of the op

You are welcome to your opinion but using a blanket statement to categorize one group of people is the type of statement that only serves to ignite posts, hence... trolling.

I think this conversation has gone on long enough.

I may not agree with what you say, but I'll fight for your right to say it. And that even goes for what I view as misguided posts about the discrimination policy. If someone came in here and was flaming you for having your opinion, I'd stick up for you too, even though we disagree.

However, you do not have the right to violate the Terms of Use for this game and thus if you say something that would violate those policies we will take appropriate action if you are reported.

Again, for clarity. You may group or not group with whomever you wish to for whatever reason you want and we will not intervene. That changes though if you use inappropriate language and subject matter or otherwise participate in harassing chat. It would be advisable for those unfamiliar with what that entails to review the following Support Article.
