Triumphs from heroics in 3.3

General reminder: Things can still change.

The current plan is to make Emblems of Triumph the "base" of emblems so everything that drops Emblems of Conquest would be changed to Triumph and then the new raid content would drop the new highest emblem along with things like the heroic daily and such.

I really do understand that blizz wants to let everyone experience icecrown and such.
What really concerns me about this new trend of skipping tiers is that Blizzard is rendering old tier content obsolete before the next expansion even hits.

We all know everything eventually becomes obsolete, but this is too much. Naxx is completely abandoned, only those that want achievements do it nowadays. With this new change, Ulduar will end up like naxx, and that is a really sad sight to see, Ulduar is such a fantastic raid dungeon.

I hope Blizz decides against this, I really do. Giving late-comers conquest emblems is enough for them to catch up, triumph is over-kill.

I really liked TBC-Style raiding, people were doing Kara/gruul/mags even when BT was out.

I would disagree with you that Naxxramas is abandoned as I see groups forming for it pretty much every day. Sure it is primarily to farm emblems and there is a good chance it is filled with alts, but it is still being run.

As much as the examples from vanilla and TBC may be something you preferred, during this expansion we have been aiming to open up the content to players the whole way through and so far we have received a lot of positive feedback on it (and some negative too) but we are happy with the way it has progressed and look forward to releasing Icecrown Citadel with this in mind.

You'ere kidding right?

Gears from heroics are one of the biggest grind they ever made.

The term "grind" is one of those things that gets really overplayed among the community and they apply it to everything since anything in the game requires doing something. Just because it was completed once doesn't mean you are done doing things forever.

The heroic "grind" isn't really that bad since you have a wide variety of dungeons to choose from, it's not like you are running the same dungeon 5 times a day everyday, so players tend to like having this as an option to get gear.

We are also implementing in patch 3.3 a weekly raid quest that will send you to kill some raid boss for additional emblems. This will help increase the flow of traffic in places like Ulduar and Naxx especially since a lot of players that are already there to kill a boss will kill a few more.

We do these already... now we'll have a few more badges to show for it.

And they will be the high end/Icecrown Citadel level emblems.
