I understand that, to a low level character, the world of Azeroth may seem a very expensive place. Between purchasing your appropriate mount skills, acquiring a pony to match, paying for repairs, and leveling up your professions, it can be difficult to make end's meat.

But, there are certainly ways your character can live comfortably and still manage to afford all the bills (so to speak) without purchasing gold. Your fellow players have provided some excellent advice on this front:

Q u o t e:
Protip: Stop working on your jewelcrafting. You can focus on that after you hit 80! Concentrate on mining and selling the ore/bars on the AH. On my server, copper goes for about 3g per stack, bronze 7g, and iron and mithril are usually in the 30g per stack range. TONS of in-game gold right there, and you don't need to spend a cent of rl money. :D

Q u o t e:
Use the AH to sell everything you get from leveling. Do dailies if you're eligible for them. Forget about crafting professions until you have gold to burn. Farm herbs, mine ore, skin critters and sell that stuff. Don't refuse to loot grey junk. Vendor it. Every scrap of copper and silver adds up. Fishing can be a huge money-maker. Take advantage of that. Farm cooking mats. Also a good money maker.

Q u o t e:
Take the time to vend everything you loot to buy a decent uncommon bag, then keep doing that until your bag slots are full.

Turn on auto-loot, and kill every mob that gets in your way to your next quest area. Loot EVERYTHING.

Vend greys, put whites, greens, and blues up on the auction house. Good luck.

Please note that not only is purchasing gold prohibited, Penelopecruz, but it contributes and encourages account compromise, botting, and in-game advertising—activities which can greatly diminish the game play of others. We detail our current stance towards this gold purchasing and selling quite deeply here: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/basics/antigold.html

I'd encourage you to take a look. :)

Bacon, actually. One's character cannot grow up and be strong without bacon.

True story.

Let's please keep this discussion civil, folks. There's no need to attack or defame one another.

Again, to review our current stance regarding the sale or purchase of gold, please refer to the following article (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/basics/antigold.html). Policy and penalty implications, as related to this practice, may also be found here (http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?locale=en_US&articleId=21507).
