I am aware of the basic requirements for the 3x Exp for recruit-a-friends, so it is strange to me that I am still having problems. Please allow me to spell out my situation in full.
I send a referral to my friend who sets up his trial account the same day. I check my Recruit-A-Friend history under Account Maintenance on the website and it confirms that everything is in good order.
He logs in and plays until he reaches level 9. I then log in as level 1, invite him to a group, and we being playing.
My friend grants me levels up to level 5. As expected, we are too far apart in level to receive 3x Exp. However, at two different stages, the triple Exp did not trigger: when I was level 7 and he was 10, and now that I am 8 and he was 10 (now 11). Why isn't the 3x exp triggering? We do not receive the bonus for either the quests or kills.
It's odd because everything seems to be working fine. We summoned each other and haven't strayed far apart from each other the entire time. I am the leader of the group, if that makes any difference. He is a night elf rogue, I am a dwarf warrior.
Any help is greatly appreciated. We went through the effort of using Recruit-A-Friend, and we expect it to work. What am I missing here?
