Blizzard Post
Posting things the forum readers might not want to hear is better than not posting at all, in my opinion. The most frustrating thing about vanilla/BC was that our concerns largely felt ignored, because developer interaction was far and few in between.

Knowing what the developers think on certian topics is always a good thing, regardless of whether we agree or disagree.

Something I've also come to notice is people are much more likely to post when they are upset about something, rather than perfectly satisfied.

So, this is me saying, I'm perfectly satisfied being disappointed (and pretty happy when I'm excited about a new change, too). Just don't leave me with silence!

Blizzard Post
To clarify, I didn't say I was taking a break from the forums, just toning it down a bit. Furthermore, players who post jerky things don't make me upset -- they just make me roll my eyes. I'll stress about all the work we have to do or whether individual decisions were the right ones. I won't stress at all about angry or immature forum posters making dartboards of me, virtual or otherwise. Sorry. :)

I just thought it was a good idea to be a little less of a presence. Too many players were trying to talk just to me instead of each other. The debate had shifted over from whether a player had the tools necessary to handle a situation or how they could better play their class to why Blizzard wouldn't buff them.

This isn't a "Tell Blizzard how to balance WoW" forum. We'll try to answer questions sometimes or give you insight into why we approach something the way we do. But really 99% of the conversations happening in these forums need to happen between one player and another. You don't need blue responses to make those conversations good ones.

Re-read your post before committing it. If you read the words "Blizzard" or "the developers" a lot, then you're probably not really talking about class mechanics and / or balance as much as you should be.

The one request I will make is to not make it such a big deal about where I respond. When I have to evaluate the message it will send or the new rule it will establish if I respond to a certain post or not, it just makes the whole process take that much longer. When I have something to say, let me spend my time posting, not scrutinizing the threads to make sure it's not rewarding the wrong people or failing to reward the right ones. Let's just make it less of an issue overall.

P.S. I'm not going to say any more on this topic for awhile. I think I have said plenty over the past couple of years, and I want to focus more on the game and less on forum policy.
