Sanctum of Light - Adventure Map

So it appears that after the paladins select the quest "A Sound Plan" and move to the board, there is nothing available. Is there a way to continue the quests in the Alpha without progressing through this quest?

EDIT:

Until the build comes out that deploys the fix for this, there is an alternative to solution.

For all of the people who haven't started adventuring in Highmountain due to this error, there is a way to get there.

If you jump off of Dalaran, into the water you are able to get to Highmountain.

1.) Jump off the edge of Dalaran into the water.
2.) Summon your Azure Water Strider so you can water walk.
3.) Either go all the way to the east and go through Stormheim to get to Highmountain or
4.) Go between Stormheim and Suramar, up the river, in order to reach Highmountain.

Here is a picture of the route to take (thank you Frimlin)

WARNING: If you do touch Azsuna or Suramar it will port you back to Dalaran and you will have to start the walking process all over again.

Once you reach flight points in either Stormheim or Highmountain, you will no longer have to use your water strider to get back.

We're investigating the issue - you should be able to select an initial zone after interacting with the map, but the choice UI is not currently appearing in the alpha client due to an apparent bug. This is likely not something that we'll be able to fix tonight.

Yes, it's not a class-specific issue. Everyone will be roadblocked for now.

We continued to investigate into this problem today and made a lot of progress into deciphering the root cause. We're still working on a fix that we're hoping to deploy sometime tomorrow, but it's too early to tell for sure.

I'll provide an update tomorrow with our progress. Thanks for being patient while we work through this, we want to get you all out in the world just as much as you all do!

Still trying, we really want you all to be able to test as much of Legion as possible. No ETA or update yet though.

Unfortunately, while we had hoped to be able to deploy a fix today, further investigation and testing has revealed that this issue cannot be solved until we deploy the next build.

As of Hotfix on 12/8:

Looks like the bug has been fixed so that the selection is there now, but despite choosing the Zone in which to send my Followers, the quest will still not complete. I've tried abandon and re-pickup, which just caused the Command Console to be unresponsive and I could not interact with it.

A second abandon, relog, then pickup fixed that for me.

Quest was still unable to be completed though.

HI Brophecy, which spec + quest was this?

Thanks, taking a look now. It's possible that server restarts are needed as well.

Edit: Nope, that's not it. Continuing to investigate why we're seeing different results. Thanks for being patient everybody.

With a final data hotfix, code hotfix, and binary build deployed out, we've gotten this issue resolved and in as good of a state as we can with this server build.

That said, if you were able to bypass the map and manually went to the zones, it's possible that certain NPCs are in a different phase than your own. We're looking into this, but that's likely a problem we can't solve today. It's still worth entering bug reports for since it's a legitimate way players could get broken on live retail servers when the expansion launches.

Thanks for being patient as we go through this, we tracked down some problems with how certain files are committed to public data containers vs internal local files. This is why your Alpha/Beta/PTR testing is so important - you're playing through the game in a public client, which hits a lot of different areas that we don't see internally (ideally this is the same content, but in terms of installation/updating/streaming it's a different beast.)

Testing is terrific!
