When I try to login to WOW with my account username **REMOVED** (I am posting from my wife's account) I get "this account is now attached to a battle.net account. Please login with your battle.net email address"

What is that? I am not able to get through to my account and keep getting that error. Has my account been hacked??

Yeah looks to be hacked. Thanks for the info guys. I filled this out and sent my ID.

Ouch, that looks to be for EU and my account is US. I guess I better call Blizz in the morning.

In the case of an unauthorized merge, a call to Billing to get those bits sorted out first is best. That makes the rest of the processes run far more smoothly.

In the meantime, it's vital that the security breach be found. Someone had to have had your username and password to do a merge. If you have malware on your system and they CAN get back in, they will be back for a second bite at the apple, that you can count on.

These two stickies may prove useful.

You may also want to look into getting an authenticator for your account. It's no substitute for good security habits, but it will keep anyone else out of your WoW account.

I do wish you all the very best on a speedy recovery.

I have scanned the machine up and down and installed Comodo firewall. I am guessing that should take care of any hole.

However, I should point out that I have sent you guys an email using the form I previously mentioned and gotten no confirmation email back. I also did not get any sort of "your account has been merged with XYZ battle.net" email. So I guess some sort of communication issue between your email server and ours or am I not supposed to get emails when all this happens?

It's possible your email was changed as well.

A call to Billing could confirm that, and get it corrected if need be.

Right, but shouldn't I have gotten a notification saying my email was changed?

Depends, it also could have been deleted if they are into your email account as well.

That's not uncommon in a compromise situation, one reason I normally recommend changing of the email password at the very least in a compromise - or even better, setting up a brand new unrelated and unguessable one just for the purpose of communication with Blizzard.
