What happened: I was wanting to trade 60 Emblems of Conquest for Emblems of Heroism so I could get some epic gems. To do this, I went to the money exchanger in Dalaran and traded the Emblems in stacks of 20. Upon completion, I rode to the Emblem of Heroism vendor and opened my character pane to discover that I had traded 60 Emblems of Triumph to Emblems of Conqueror and THEN the Conquerors to Heroism. Since I was in such a hurry I hadn't realized that I had done so until it was too late. Poof, 60 Emblems of Triumph wasted.

I immediately put in a ticket about it and got this response 20 hours later.

"Unfortunately, we are unable to fulfill your request at this time. Though our goal is to resolve every issue as requested, certain actions are beyond the scope of the Game Master Department. We regret any inconvenience you may have been caused."

Not in the scope? Maybe not to the everyday GM, but I know there are higher-ups who can accomplish this. About 20 minutes after I received my email I was able to get in game and submit another ticket:

"I accidentally traded 60 Emblems of Triumph for Emblems of Conquest at the money exchanger in Dalaran. I was intending to trade 60 Emblems of Conquest for Emblems of Heroism so I could buy gems. I should have 29 EoC, 63 EoT, and 60 EoH.

I had a ticket in last night and it was just resolved about 20 minutes ago. The email said that you guys are unable to Debit and Credit alternative currency? I spent 2 weeks saving those emblems and idiotically (mistakenly) traded them away. Any help would be :)"

In which, a GM replied by email:

"Answer: Unfortunately we are still deciding to uphold our original decision. A confirmation is made each time an emblem is changed to prevent this sort of thing from happening."

I am very much aware of the confirmation. Who honestly pays any attention to them? I have submitted a 3rd ticket which is still pending:

"Please refer to my previous 2 tickets for the reason why I’m submitting a third. I don’t want to sound rude, but I find it ridiculous I can’t get my Emblems of Triumph refunded. I’m aware there’s a popup message, but I’ve traded Emblems before and anticipated the pop-ups. I was in a hurry trading 20 at a time and speed-clicked past the warnings. I didn’t realize what I had did until afterwards at the actual Emblem of Heroism vendors. I immediately put my ticket in after consulting with my guild for a couple minutes. Please contact me in-game instead of email."

I really am not a rude guy, I just want my Emblems back. We are going for a top 50 Heroic Anub’arak kill tonight, and any upgrade in gear could mean the difference between success and failure.

I spent 2 weeks saving those Emblems, and if 2 weeks of my time means nothing to Blizzard, then I’m sure my money doesn’t either. If I get a rejection for this ticket, I WILL cancel my subscription. That isn’t meant to be a threat, it’s an actual promise. I’ve spent almost $400 on transfers and faction changes alone not to mention the months of subscription fees. If an honest mistake as little as this can’t be fixed then I don’t want to bother giving my money anymore.

The reason I'm putting this on the forum is due to the fact I haven't been able to actually talk to anyone yet. This may not seem like a big deal to other people, but to me, 60 Emblems of Triumph is a representation of my time and money spent here. It's imperative I stay on par as far as gear goes because our guild is #1 in progression on our server.

I sincerely appreciate any response, otherwise, you've lost a very dedicated customer.

I'm sorry, Xefeas, but there is a difference between having an ability to do something and being able to do it. Yes, we technically could remove the emblems you currently have and give you the same number of the ones you want. However, we have specific policies in place on what items can and can not be restored and under what conditions. I'm afraid in your situation it was determined that we would not be able to assist you.

Perhaps the time you spent acquiring the items are important to us, Xefeas, but those two weeks are more important to you since you spent that amount of time acquiring the items. I don't understand the dismissive attitude towards the confirmation window I mean if those two weeks were as important to you as you say they were I don't see how taking an extra couple of seconds to confirm your purchase is a waste of time.

This isn't your first error, we have helped you a few times now. That likely did not have any impact on why this refund was denied but I mentioned it to illustrate a point. We try to help whenever we can, Xefeas, but we also require players to take responsibility for their own actions.

Though we never like to lose a dedicated customer if the expectation is that they should not be held responsible for their own actions then I'm afraid we will have to say adieu. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.
