"Toon" - Bubbly happy-go-lucky with a funny quirky name that makes you chuckle like "Pipsy" or "Tummyache". Usually a Gnome with pink pig tails or a silly little female Blood Elf. Most "Toons" are casual players who enjoy the game but don't take it too seriously. They love collecting pets and mounts and doing the "funny" achievements like "To All the Squirrels I've Loved", etc.
"Avatar" - Distinguished, professionally looking. Usually associated with a Male Human Priest or a Night Elf Druid. Has a tendency to be named like a character out of a really bad fantasy fiction novel, names "Arthurius", "Malagacius", "Borigar", etc. They are commonly found, but not exclusive, to RP Servers and are generally very aware of the current iLevel on all of the gear for all of their specs.
"Char" - Usually pretty non-descript, can tell that not a lot of time was spent on the customization screen. Commonly plays a fury warrior or rogue. Names are fairly dull and not very creative, such as "Stabber", "Kutthroat", "Killerbob", etc. Arena and Battlegrounds are frequented by these types.
"Guy" - The lowest in the food chain. Generally reserved for long-forgotten alts, trial account players, and people who have never played an MMO before. Common classes of "my guy" are Mages and Hunters and usually have really facepalm names like "Facepalm", "Pwnzor", "Pwner", "Pewpewlazors", etc. These are hard to track down because of their short life span in the world of Azeroth as they are generally deleted due to lack of interest or a new version of Grand Theft Auto was recently released.
"Chocosaurus Rex" - Half milk chocolate, half rabid dinosaur, and you don't fit any of the categories above.
