Patch 6.2 Hotfixes - June 26

Here you'll find a list of hotfixes that address various issues related to the recently released World of Warcraft Patch 6.2.0. Hotfixes are updates made without requiring a new client-side patch. Some of the hotfixes below take effect the moment they were implemented, while others may require a realm restarte to go into effect. Please keep in mind that some issues cannot be addressed without a client-side patch update. This list will be updated as additional hotfixes are applied.

The latest batch of hotfixes are listed below. Previous hotfixes have been compiled by category to provide a quick summary of all hotfixes that have been applied since the start of World of Warcraft Patch 6.2.0.

Tags may be added to some hotfixes to denote a special condition.

  • [Requires a realm restart] means the hotfix will not take effect until after a scheduled rolling restart or maintenance.
  • [Hotfix in testing] means the hotfix is in early stages of testing and may not be implemented just yet. However, the change is important and is posted to provide as much advanced notice as possible.

Garrisons

Followers

  • Leorajh has regained the ability to allow players to access the Follower Missions menu while in the field.

Druid

General

  • Prowl can now be used while the Druid is sitting.

Creatures and NPCs

Tanaan Jungle

  • Supreme Lord Kazzak no longer drops Felblight for characters below level 100.

Quests

  • Vignette: Murktide Alpha: This quest is no longer cleared from your character during a daily reset or after logging off.

Tanaan Jungle

  • Pressing the Attack: Completing the chapter quest versions of the bonus objectives should now be awarding quest credit.

Raids and Dungeons

Loot Changes

Please note that the following loot changes require a realm restart to take effect.

  • Tripled the chance that a Mythic dungeon item can upgrade to Warforged. As a reminder, when a Mythic dungeon item is Warforged (which can drop from any Mythic dungeon boss), the item level is increased from 685 to 705.
  • Increased the number of set pieces that drop from set bosses in Hellfire Citadel on Normal and Heroic difficulty. This affects both personal loot and group loot.
  • Doubled the chance of an item being Warforged in Timewalking dungeons with an item level increase from 660 to 675.
  • Increase the chance of getting an item when using a Seal of Tempered Fate.

Timewalking

  • Legacy quests from previous expansions can now be completed while in a Timewalking dungeon.

Hellfire Citadel

Iron Reaver

  • Players should no longer be spammed with loot notifications for Internal Stabilizer Equipment Plan after defeating Iron Reaver.

Kilrogg Deadeye

  • The Fel Corruption buff gained from Hulking Terrors before the Kilrogg Deadeye encounter is now removed upon exiting combat.

Fel Lord Zakuun

  • Fixed an issue where Noxious Cloud's visual effect to affect framerates more than intended.

Archimonde

  • Players corpses should no longer be teleported out of the Twisting Nether in Phase 3 until the encounter is over.
  • Players corposes should no longer be teleported back up to the platform if they off the platform while in the Twisting Nether for Phase 3.
  • Allure of Flames no longer targets dead melee players.
  • Archimonde now prefers to cast Nether Banish on players who are in a tanking specialization.

PvP

Ashran

  • In The Breach, Stormshield Footman and Warspear Grunt no longer drop any loot.
  • The Stand Fast aura should provide an increase of 5% to your damage. The tooltip for this aura will be updated at a later date.
  • The Tower Defense aura should provide an increase of 10% to your damage. The tooltip for this aura will be updated at a later date.
  • The Hold Your Ground aura should provide an increase of 15% to your damage. The tooltip for this aura will be updated at a later date.
  • Victory in Ashran events now awards 150 Honor Points per win, down from 250.
  • Victory in Ashran Mines now requires 30 marks, down from 50.

Items

  • Ai-Li’s Skymirror can no longer be used to copy Vial of Red Goo's transformation effect.
  • Baleful Cloak and Baleful Ring should now correctly grant a reward tailored for the character's loot specialization as intended.
  • Saberstalker Teachings: Trailblazer should now be refundable for the full amount paid to the vendor.
  • Trade Agreement: Arakkoa Outcasts: Fixed an issue that could cause players to be unable to use the item.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue that could cause quest progress to stop functioning after the completion of a dungeon.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause progress for a quest to be lost when splitting and recombining stacks of quest items.
  • Fixed an issue preventing some vendor items from being purchaseable.

Death Knight

Frost

  • [Hotfix in testing] Frost Strike and Obliterate have been reduced to their pre-6.2 damage levels.
    • The change to Might of the Frozen Wastes remains in place and is a significant buff to Frost Strike damage while dual-wielding.
    • Obliterate once again deals full damage to players.
  • [Hotfix in testing] Howling Blast damage has been reduced by 13.5% but is still a slight buff from its pre-6.2 damage levels.

Hunter

Beast Mastery

  • [Hotfix in testing] Improved Focus Fire should now correctly increase attack power.

Shaman

Enhancement

  • [Hotfix in testing] Lava Lash now deals 20% more damage.
  • [Hotfix in testing] Stormstrike now deals 20% more damage.
  • [Hotfix in testing] Windstrike now deals 20% more damage.

World Environment and Events

Tanaan Jungle

  • Enabled a graveyard much closer to the Throne of Kil'jaeden area to no longer require completion of the quest "The Assault Base".
  • Looted Bleeding Hollow Treasure should now contain more Garrison Resources.

Midsummer Fire Festival

  • Burning Blossom's Fire Festival Fury effect no longer stacks with flasks.

Creatures and NPCs

Tanaan Jungle

  • Savage Whale Shark has migrated to a savage new home in the waters around Ironhold Harbor.
  • Players should no longer be seeing zone wide messages from rare creatures or NPCs that are not in their area.
  • Fixed an issue where players were unable to block the beams to activate Varyx the Damned.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause players to not receive loot after defeating Supreme Lord Kazzak.

Quests

Garrison Quests

  • If At First You Fail, Try Again!: Fixed an issue that could cause players to be unable to complete the quest.

Tanaan Jungle

  • Tooth and Claw: The quest now awards 100 Blackfang Claws on competition (up from 25 Blackfang Claws).

Legendary Ring Quest Line

  • Legacy of the Sorcerer Kings: Tracking and credit for obtaining Abrogator Stones should be working correctly once more.
  • The Shadow War: The location for quest turn-in should now be updated correctly if Khadgar has moved to a new location.

Raids and Dungeons

Hellfire Citadel

General

  • Increased the chance for non-boss enemies (“trash”) in Hellfire Citadel to drop epic items.

Hellfire Assault

  • Contracted Engineer now has roughly 5% less health on Heroic difficulty.
  • Gorebound Felcaster now has roughly 5% less health on Heroic difficulty.
  • Hulking Berserker now has roughly 15% less health on Heroic difficulty.
  • Iron Dragoon now has roughly 5% less health on Heroic difficulty.

Kilrogg Deadeye

  • Fixed an issue where players that died during the encounter while the raid group completes the achievement "A Race Against Slime" was not receiving Ariok as a follower.

Shadow-Lord Iskar

  • Fel Bomb should no longer be incorrectly removed by Mistweaver Monk's Revival if the player is not holding the Eye of Anzu.

Socrethar the Eternal

  • Soulbound Construct while it's under player control should no longer be affected by Rallying Cry.
  • Sargerei Dominators now have a very brief delay before attacking after being spawned.

Fel Lord Zakuun

  • The number of players chosen for Seed of Destruction should now scale correctly based on raid size.

Mannoroth

  • Players should now be able to see a buff on Fel Iron Summoners to indicate the type of portal being opened during Stage One of the encounter.

Archimonde

  • Defeating a Hellfire Deathcaller should now correctly only remove a single stack of Death Brand on the target.

PvP

Ashran

  • Decreased the maximum number of players on each faction to 40. To compensate for this change, we've also increased the number of Ashran instances.
  • [Requires a realm restart] If a faction repeatedly loses at an Ashran event, they will now receive an invisible progressive buff that increases their damage, healing, and damage absorption by 5% per stack. This effect can stack up to 10 times. A stack of the buff will be removed each time the losing faction wins an event.

Items

  • Saberstalker Teachings: Trailblazer should now be usable by players that already have learned Treasure Map: Tanaan Jungle.
  • Sassy Imp should no longer have a chance to summon a stable master.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue that could cause players to be dismounted while on a quest flight path.

Garrisons

General

  • Horde characters should no longer incorrectly receive an item when attempting to use their garrison's jukebox to play the track "A Siege of Worlds".

Naval Missions

  • Sink or Swim: The naval mission was more difficult than intended and no longer has an Iron Horde Destroyer as a threat.

Creatures and NPCs

Tanaan Jungle

  • Akrrilo, Eyepiercer, and Rendarr are no longer attackable before jumping into the arena in Fang'rila.

Quests

Garrison Quests

  • A True Naval Commander: Fixed an issue for Horde characters where more than one NPC was offering the same quest.
  • Upgrading The Fleet: Completing "I Sunk Your Battleship" is no longer a prerequisite for this quest.
  • Equipment Blueprint quests are no longer sharable.

Raids and Dungeons

Hellfire Citadel

Kormrok

  • Kormrok's Empowered Explosive Runes that have reformed inside the Foul Pool should now correctly still be able to deal damage to the entire raid.

Gorefiend

  • Fixed an issue that could cause players that had just left Gorefiend's stomach to incorrectly be sent back in.
  • Monks with an active Zen Sphere while affected by Shadow of Death should no longer be getting stuck before being transported into or out of Gorefiend's stomach.

Shadow-Lord Iskar

  • Eye of Anzu should now correctly protect players from the effects of Shadow-Lord Iskar's Phantasmal Winds.

Socrethar the Eternal

  • Fel Prisons should now be able to correctly trap Sargerei Shadowcallers.
  • Soulbound Construct's Reverberating Blow should no longer incorrectly pull mobs from outside of the encounter.

Fel Lord Zakuun

  • Dark Devourer's Collapse ability should now correctly deal damage.
  • Shao'ghun's Shockwave ability now deals less damage.

Archimonde

  • Archimonde's Desecrate ability should no longer deal damage to pets.

  • The following toys can no longer be used while in a rated PvP match.

Tier-18 Set Bonus and Trinket Adjustments

We've made a number of adjustments to Tier-18 set bonuses based on feedback and data from raid testing on Public Test Realms (PTR). Tooltips for the following set bonuses may be inaccurate and will be fixed in a future client-side patch. For more information on these changes, please visit the 6.2 PTR discussion thread titled: Feedback Thread - Set Bonuses + Trinkets.

Death Knight

Armor Sets

  • Tier-18 2-piece set bonus for Frost Death Knights now provides a 3% gain to haste (down from 5%) on critical hits with Obliterate and critical damage is increased by 6% (down from 10%) on critical hits with Frost Strike.

Druid

Armor Sets

  • Tier-18 2-piece set bonus for Feral Druids now increases the chance for Omen of Clarity to trigger by 90% (down from 133%).
  • Tier-18 4-piece set bonus for Balance Druids now increases Arcane and Nature damage by 6% (down from 8%).

Mage

Armor Sets

  • Tier-18 2-piece set bonus for Arcane Mages' summoned heroes now deal 40% less damage.
  • Tier-18 4-piece set bonus for Frost Mages now increases the duration of Water Jet by 10 seconds (up from 4 seconds).

Monk

Armor Sets

  • Tier-18 2-piece set bonus for Windwalker Monks now gives Rising Sun Kick a 30% chance (down from 40%) to generate Combo Breaker.

Paladin

Armor Sets

  • Tier-18 4-piece set bonus for Retribution Paladins now increases damage by 5% per stack (down from 6%).

Priest

Armor Sets

  • Tier-18 4-piece set bonus for Shadow Priests now increases Multistrike chance by 20% (up from 16%) with Premonition.

Rogue

Armor Sets

  • Tier-18 2-piece set bonus for Subtlety Rogues now increases all damage dealt by 30% (up from 10%) for 10 seconds after Vanish is used.

Shaman

Armor Sets

  • Tier-18 4-piece set bonus for Enhancement Shaman now increases damage dealt by Nature spells by an additional 12% (up from 8%), but now only counts up to a maximum of 5 Maelstrom charges (maximum 60% damage bonus).

Warlock

Armor Sets

  • Tier-18 2-piece set bonus for Affliction Warlocks now has a 10% chance (down from 30%) each time Drain Soul deals damage to extend the duration of Dark Soul: Misery by 2 seconds.
  • Tier-18 2-piece set bonus for Demonology Warlocks now causes Soul Fire to increase damage dealt by Demons by 4% (up from 3%) for 15 seconds per stack.

Warrior

Armor Sets

  • The change to Tier-18 2-piece set bonus for Arms Warriors has been reverted. Chance to reset the cooldown of Mortal Strike from Rend periodic damage ticks is back to the original 60%. Tier-18 2-piece set bonus for Arms Warriors now has a 100% chance to reset the cooldown of Mortal Strike from Rend periodic damage ticks.

Trinkets

  • Empty Drinking Horn now deals roughly 50% less damage with its Fel Burn effect.
  • Prophecy of Fear's explosion effect is no longer triggered by Mastery: Icicles for Frost Mages or Mastery: Molten Earth for Elemental Shaman.
  • Soul Capacitor should no longer be dealing less damage than stated in the item's tooltip.

  • Fixed an issue that could cause Naval Missions for Legendary Ring Quest Line items to appear prematurely on the Naval Mission map.

  • Tier-18 2-piece set bonus for Feral Druids now increases the chance for Omen of Clarity to trigger by 90% (down from 133%).
  • Tier-18 4-piece set bonus for Balance Druids now increases Arcane and Nature damage by 6% (down from 8%).

Mage

  • Tier-18 2-piece set bonus for Arcane Mages' summoned heroes now deal 40% less damage.
  • Tier-18 4-piece set bonus for Frost Mages now increases the duration of Water Jet by 10 seconds (up from 4 seconds).

Monk

  • Tier-18 2-piece set bonus for Windwalker Monks now gives Rising Sun Kick a 30% chance (down from 40%) to generate Combo Breaker.

Paladin

Armor Sets

  • Tier-18 4-piece set bonus for Retribution Paladins now increases damage by 5% per stack (down from 6%).

Priest

Armor Sets

  • Tier-18 4-piece set bonus for Shadow Priests now increases Multistrike chance by 20% (up from 16%) with Premonition.

Rogue

Armor Sets

  • Tier-18 2-piece set bonus for Subtlety Rogues now increases all damage dealt by 30% (up from 10%) for 10 seconds after Vanish is used.

Shaman

Armor Sets

  • Tier-18 4-piece set bonus for Enhancement Shaman now increases damage dealt by Nature spells by an additional 12% (up from 8%), but now only counts up to a maximum of 5 Maelstrom charges (maximum 60% damage bonus).

Warlock

Armor Sets

  • Tier-18 2-piece set bonus for Affliction Warlocks now has a 10% chance (down from 30%) each time Drain Soul deals damage to extend the duration of Dark Soul: Misery by 2 seconds.
  • Tier-18 2-piece set bonus for Demonology Warlocks now causes Soul Fire to increase damage dealt by Demons by 4% (up from 3%) for 15 seconds per stack.

Warrior

Armor Sets

  • The change to Tier-18 2-piece set bonus for Arms Warriors has been reverted. Chance to reset the cooldown of Mortal Strike from Rend periodic damage ticks is back to the original 60%. Tier-18 2-piece set bonus for Arms Warriors now has a 100% chance to reset the cooldown of Mortal Strike from Rend periodic damage ticks.

Trinkets

  • Empty Drinking Horn now deals roughly 50% less damage with its Fel Burn effect.
  • Prophecy of Fear's explosion effect is no longer triggered by Mastery: Icicles for Frost Mages or Mastery: Molten Earth for Elemental Shaman.
  • Soul Capacitor should no longer be dealing less damage than stated in the item's tooltip.

Death Knight

Frost

  • [Hotfix in testing] Frost Strike and Obliterate have been reduced to their pre-6.2 damage levels.
    • The change to Might of the Frozen Wastes remains in place and is a significant buff to Frost Strike damage while dual-wielding.
    • Obliterate once again deals full damage to players.
  • [Hotfix in testing] Howling Blast damage has been reduced by 13.5% but is still a slight buff from its pre-6.2 damage levels.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue that could cause Death Coil to not heal a friendly target unless an enemy target is selected.
