Paragon does not use a Prot Paladin

As of MMO-Champion's front page news, the world-first kill of Heroic Anub'Arak was tanked by a Feral Druid and two Prot Warriors (on an apparently add-heavy fight, correct me if I'm wrong).

A cursory glance at the four Paladins in the fight would also seem to indicate that even their dual specs are Retribution and Holy.

Q u o t e:
I think everyone has already beaten this to death, but let's give a quick summary.

Major guilds do not change their primary tanks unless it becomes obvious there will be a significant difference in the outcome.

Paragon obviously spent a lot of time working out how best to organize this. They used several rogues with massive amounts of armor penetration to output some serious dps on the boss. They took advantage of a game mechanic that allowed their top dps to have almost 100% armor penetration up almost 50% of the time, with 50% the remaining time (that's 75% average).

They brought several DK's, and although they might not have done it - they had the option of popping army of dead during every spawn phase to reduce the amount of healing required (because people weren't getting attacked). In addition to this they had massive AoE damage (for spawns), and single target dps for the boss.

Enhancement shaman, Feral tank, (I didn't check the hunter, but possible marksman) - all stacked to improve their already impressive melee dps.

The elemental shaman and frost mages were likely for the adds and AoE damage, with the warlock available to help out.

Healing they had 3 holy paladins, one beacon for each tank, allowing them to heal anyone they felt like while still maintaining sacred shield, and healing on their tank. Two tree druids for HoT's adding mobility because the fight demands it, and The priest available to cleanup anything leftover.

They spent a lot of time figuring out what works for them. The majority of their raid did not have very many 245 pieces, let alone 258's. This was done with BiS Ulduar gear + a little more. They pushed boundaries just like stars did and should be commended for it - even if it took them 46 tries to get it right.

Their achievement has absolutely nothing to do with Prot paladins being OP or not. I'm certain that others could do the exact same thing with an appropriately stacked group based around a Prot paladin, Warrior, or even DK tanking it.

I still believe DK's are a little behind the other tanks, however I don't believe it would cause them to be incapable of tanking this fight.

One of the more sensible posts in this thread, IMO.
