Lost Loremaster achievements and poor service

I have faction transferred recently and while all else went well, I have lost my achievements for Loremaster of Easten Kingdoms and Kalimdor as well as Might of Dragonblight, Fo'Grizzle my Shizzle and I've Toured the Fjord.

After posting tickets in game I was first told to read the forums and FAQ which I have done coming across such gems as this Blizz post in the 'Faction Change & Loremaster achievement' thread.

" ...Completed quests which are considered faction-specific—or faction-neutral and part of a quest chain—will be removed from your character's completed quest log and will no longer count towards any running totals or achievements. While your total may not be reset to 0, you will certainly notice a difference.

Completed achievements will transfer over, though; it's only those which are in progress that will be affected by the faction process.
"

I posted again asking to speak to a GM and have this explained only to get another e-mail stating that Faction specific quests will be removed form the quest log and thus affect all achievements including Loremaster.

Not only is this in contradiction to the above quote - I have retained 'Loremaster of Outlands" and the rest of my NR quests as well as '2000 quest complete' despite many of those quests being faction specific (indeed my total quest completed toward 3000 is only at 1300 now).
Furthermore, my wife and I transferred at the same time, with the same achievements (since we play together). She has retained all her previous achievements as have every other friend and player I have spoken to.

In my readings of the forums it seems there are only a very small handful of other people who have been affected in a similar way.

Please Blizz - be consistent in your message between GMs. Either completed quests will be retained, or all achievements will be reset on Faction Transfer when faction -specific quests are removed.
As it appears the later is not the case - can I have my Loremaster achievements back please

Zhac, may I ask if your Loremaster of Eastern Kingdoms and Loremaster of Kalimdor achievements were in progress or complete at the time of your Faction Change? If they were complete, they should have transferred over successfully. If they were in progress, your tracked quest total count would be lowered, as all faction-specific and faction-neutral quests (those which are part of a quest chain, that is) are removed from your character's completed quest log during the Faction Change process.

This removal of quests, again, should not have affected any completed Loremaster achievements. If it did, please let me know, and I'll have the matter examined. I'll need a character name and realm, though, to get the ball rolling. :)

Q u o t e:

You're speaking of two situations which are not mutually exclusive. It is absolutely possible for one to have completed quests removed from a character's log and retain credit for completed achievements which hold "quests completed" as a criterion. It's only those which are in progress that will experience a tangible set back (excluding Argent Tournament achievements).

As I noted in a similar thread:
Q u o t e:
Completed "Quests Completed" achievements will transfer over, though; it's only those which are in progress that will be affected by the faction change process. So, it's certainly possible for you to have a completed a "500 Quests Completed" achievement, yet still have your running total showing a number below the 500 mark.

I hope this helps!

Thanks, Zhac! I'll be sure to have this information looked into as quickly as possible. :)

This whole process may take some time, though, so please do not be concerned if I don't check back immediately. If more than a day is required to get everything squared away, I'll be certain to touch base with you here—at least every morning, but most likely with greater frequency than that.

Just a status update for you, Zhac: I've forwarded on your information for further review and it remains under investigation at this time. Should I glean any further news for you, I'll be sure to post it here. :)

Thank you so much for your patience!

We're still looking into this issue, Zhac, and it turns out that multiple characters have been affected. Our Quality Assurance department is on the case at the moment, though I hope to hear back shortly. :)

If I don't hear back today, I'll provide another update tomorrow!

Ikill—I've forwarded on your information, as well. :)

Zhac and Ysarra—As this issue is affecting a number of characters, but not all, we're presently attempting to isolate the source (what sort of criteria led to this occurring for only certain faction changes) and how best to resolve it without hindering your game play. It may sound like an easy enough thing to do, but it's a touch more complex than that. Zhac, you do have my sincere apologies for the wait you've experienced; we just want to make sure we get everything right.

Q u o t e:
Had same problem. I had EVERY quest achiev completed and lost some random ones - but not the metas. Should I open a ticket?

Can you please be more specific, Aestu? What achievements do you believe you've lost? :)

(Oh, and which character did this affect?)

I said I had every quest achievement, therefore, I lost all the ones I do not currently have.

Due to the nature of this issue, our records will still show missing achievements as completed. Because of this, and so that I may relay on the appropriate information, I need know which achievements are no longer showing as complete for your character(s) in-game. It's less invasive, and allows us to potentially help more swiftly, if our players provide us with a list.

Also, if you're willing, can you tell me which character you're referring to (since I'm showing that you've completed more than one Faction Change)? If all characters are affected, just let me know. :)

Q u o t e:
Also, is there a reason you refer to me by Aetsu (a sometime name) and not Aestu?

That was just a typo, Aestu; as usual, my fingers moved along a bit faster than my brain. Apologies for any confusion that slip-up may have caused!

Due to the way The Armory updates, Aestu, the information displayed within its pages may not always be up-to-date. For this reason, it's more reliable for a list of missing achievements to be provided directly by you, the player. I am not trying to further inconvenience you, rather just ensure that the information I forward on to our Quality Assurance department is accurate and a complete representation of your concern.

With that said, it appears as though you've some hesitation in working with me. That's okay, but I would greatly like to see your issue resolved as quickly as possible. Are you perhaps willing to meet me half-way? :)

Since you note that your Armory page is a proper reflection, these are the achievements noted as incomplete within it:

    I've Toured the Fjord
    Might of Dragonblight
    Fo' Grizzle My Shizzle
    Loremaster of Eastern Kingdoms
    Loremaster of Kalimdor

Can you confirm that this list is accurate and complete according to this issue?

Feedback of all varieties is welcome, Aestu. I thank you for yours. :)

Q u o t e:
Anyway, I'm simply going to open a ticket. Hit or miss approach.

While this is certainly not necessary (as your information as already been forwarded on our to Quality Assurance staff), you're most welcome to create a petition or submit an email to [email protected], as well.

Q u o t e:
This has also happened to a friend of mine - when he transferred his hunter from Alliance to Horde he lost a few achievements;
"I've Toured the Fjord"
"Might of Dragonblight"
"Fo' Grizzle My Shizzle"
"Loremaster of Northrend"
"Loremaster of Eastern Kingdoms"
"Loremaster of Kalimdor"
All were complete, and he had the title of Loremaster which he still does have, but the achievements are incomplete.

Can you provide me your friend's character's name and realm, Wildelark? :)

Zhac, Aredyl, Ikill, Aestu, Sammael, Adarah, Kodey, and Pikachoo, can you please log into your affected characters and let me know if you note any changes to your quest-based achievements?

Just to provide a bit more information: We've recently discovered a possible temporary fix which should help restore your in-game achievement credit. This temporary fix may or may not work; if it doesn't, please do not be concerned. We hope to implement a more long-term resolution within the next week. :)

Any other attempts of fixes coming down the pipeline?

Absolutely.

In the meantime, those of you who have noticed any change to your characters (Kodey, Pikachoo, Aredyl, Ikill) , please go ahead and email [email protected] with "Attn: Syndri" in the title. Include a list of what discrepancies you've noticed between before and after this temporary fix as it relates to achievements, quest progression, reputations, titles, the Argent Tournament, etc. I'll make sure that you guys are taken care of and I'm very, very sorry for any frustration this ongoing issue has caused.

Edit: This request is presently to the players I've noted above. If you'd like to report a related issue on a character not yet mentioned in this thread, please go ahead and create a new post in this topic with the character's name, realm, and list of missing achievements. :)

Q u o t e:
What about the new issue, with faction reputations appearing that replaced the achievements issues? Would you like a separate thread on those, or keep it here, since it seems to have occured as a result of the achievement fixes?

They're actually unrelated, but I do understand why it may seem otherwise. This temporary fix was only applied to certain characters (already reported herein) and not to the general population.

If you do have an issue, though, go ahead and report here—even if it does seem a bit different. Just include as much information as possible. :)

We're presently working on a solution, Angery, that can allow us to restore your achievement credit without causing your character to lose out on Argent Tournament progress or various faction-based reputations. I ensured that your information was also forwarded on the same day you originally reported it herein. :)
