You can help to make this forum a much more useful source of information for the devs and the community by following this one simple rule:

"Don't post about PvP balance if you're not in glad range."

This way, I don't have to sift through a bunch of scrubby drivel to glean the good information that is actually relevant and accurate. It's the same reason you don't ask a street bum for investment advice. If you were any good and had any idea about what you were discussing, you'd have a good rating. I'm in the same scrub boat as you (in fact I don't even play actively atm), so I'll take my own advice in future.

Some people are just bad. It's okay, but just keep it to yourself.

I think players tend to place a little too much emphasis on the accomplishments of the character used for posting. Many threads get derailed by the whole "post on your main" diatribe. If it's a good argument, then it doesn't really matter who makes it, and a great player shouldn't be allowed to get away with saying dumb things just because they are great at the game. There are gladiators / end-game raiders with a poor grasp of game mechanics (they can play well, but can't necessarily articulate why) and there are scrubs with great ideas.

Now, IMO it does get to be an issue when someone is invoking their skill or personal experience as part of their argument. If someone claims "I can't do as much dps as the warlocks in the raid" or "I get two-shotted by rogues" or "I am a four-time gladiator" or "My guild got server-first Yog +0" then the identity of their character becomes a lot more relevant.
