Explain Worgen Death Knights

Someone please explain to me how sane worgen released after Arthas is killed can become death knights which would presumably no longer have been created after his death. This is actually MORE stupid than death knights in the alliance because where that was just an unreasonable idea and horrible mutilation of lore, this is actually chronologically impossible. Why do you keep making it more embarassing to be seen playing this game?

Perhaps you haven't visited Grizzly Hills recently.

Hexe gives some compelling arguments about how a potential worgen death knights may occur (non Gilnean.) Of course, there is also the possibility that some small scouting parties of Gilnean worgen were captured by the Scourge, in and around the events that were the 3rd war. Not every battle or conquest of the Lich King is chronicled in the lore, nor would the capture of some small amount of worgen. Remember that none of the creatures we're talking about here are the original worgen conjured by the Scythe of Elune. These are all hybrids and, for the most part, humans. One would think that may just be a good enough reason for them to be able to rejoin with the Alliance.

To say that something is anathema to lore is tantamount to saying that something is entirely impossible and in a world full of dragons, demons, undead, and countless other magical wonders, it's good to keep an open mind. Just because you can't envision it, doesn't mean that someone else can't do so in a compelling way.

While I agree fun needs to trump lore every once in a while, if it happens too often the backbone of your game becomes a bit of a joke. Warcraft was built from a foundation of great lore. It is getting a little wobbly with each new misstep.

Regardless, I can't wait to see the story surrounding how the Grizzly Hills Worgen integrate into the Alliance alongside the Gilneas Worgen.



That was more a reference to other functioning worgen who, at least on the surface, appear to be in control of their own faculties. There are a myriad of possibilities here and none of them preclude good lore explanation.

And then they stick this crud on some intern in the lore department. "Give us a reason. Doesn't matter if it makes sense."


Actually, I remember Metzen replying with a more lore oriented answer. The night elf could be 10,000 years old and remember the ways of magic and the arcane. After all, night elves were originally magic users themselves.
