Several Stats Being Removed in Cataclysm?

I heard that several stats like ap, sp, def rating, block value will be gone in the next expansion? I'm really hoping this is not true. : / That would make the game too easy imo.

This is true. The goal is to make it so players can see an item and know it's better much faster as opposed to needing a spreadsheet to help figure it out.
