Just answer a question for me and tell me whether this is a ridiculous thing to ask.
I believe - could be wrong - in BC we were the only class/spec that had replenishment, now 3 other classes have gotten this ability. We're good for raids, put out decent dps, but there's nothing that's making us largely desirable in raids. Is there any way for us to get a spell or ability that makes us stand out in raids (minus VE because that's never been a LARGE help in raids (yeah, I know, it helps.) Druids for example have Auras based on what spec they are making them desirable in raids. Shamans have Elemental Oath/Totem of Wrath. Mages can conjure strudel and locks can conjure health stones, summon, use their imp, plenty of things, but they're pure dps so they do a ton of dps compared to a shadow priest in equivalent gear. Misery works the same way as imp faerie fire which doesn't make too much of a difference because that just means druids could replace us in a raid because they help more for the raids effort and deal more damage in general. I know we give fort and spirit buffs but unless the raid can't find another priest that's just practically worthless for us.
So I'm not proposing some overpowered skill, I'm asking if there's a way IN blizzards mind, to replace dispersion which is really not much of a help in pve for another 51 talent that helps pve. (I personally believe shadow priests are good in pvp if well played). It would be nice if a blizzard developer took time out of their busy schedule concerning everyone's "QQ" but if there was a way for blizzard to buff shadow priest damage so we atleast put out close to the equivalent to a mage ( I'm not asking for MB To crit for 50k, I'm asking for minor DoT/MF buffs ) which could put us on a scale that we'd be known as a heavy dps dealing class, or perhaps something else which effects the raid that no other class would have, something unique, so we're not close to useless anymore.
That's all, it would be sick if shadow priests could go back to seeing something in LFG along the lines of LFG : LF3M 25 man Ulduar! WTB shadow priest. <-- seeing that would make me quite pleased.
Thanks for bothering to read my wall of text in a less enraged form of QQ's.
P.S. I personally believe this may be the only non balanced/weakness in the entire class, priests are one of the most balanced classes in my opinion, minus this one tidbit.
