Battle.net account and linked e-mail hacked

So my brothers account was hacked and the password was changed. Hes attempted retrieving it but apparently now his hotmail (which uses the same email and password as battle.net account) has been hacked as well so he can't retrieve it using that method. The hacker also took advantage by changing the Question and Secret Answer needed in order for my brother to retrieve his hotmail password - which may I add is a massive flaw in their account security, "Hey I have your password, lets log into your account and change your question/secret answer so that you can't retrieve it."

So now that both his battle.net account and email linked to that account have been compromised, how do we go about retrieving the password? Windows Live (Hotmail) are pretty useless and have no direct way for us to contact them so I was wondering if there was an alternative way for blizzard to retrieve his account details rather than e-mail.

Thanks a lot for the reply/advice, really appreciate it. I'll get him to call up when they're open. This wouldn't be so troublesome if hotmail had decent security to protect their accounts.

What you've pointed out is exactly why we don't allow secret questions and answers to be changed.

I'd recommend a deep security sweep as well as setting up a new - unrelated, pristine email - then giving Billing a call as soon as possible.

Once they get all that sorted out, restoration steps can move forward if there have been any damages, and chances are good in any compromise, there likely have been.

Best of luck to you, do let us know if you have any other questions.
