ToC disconnect and loot gone

My guild and I decided to do 10 man ToC tonite. We went in, killed Icehowl, but as soon as he died everyone in the raid disconnected. We came back in to find that the body had despawned and could not receive any loot and was saved. Other people were saying they were disconnected as well in general chat. Most of my guildies have put in a ticket to try to get our loot and emblems. We also were disconnected again during the faction champions. Just thought I would let you know.

We definitely have ways of checking into looting issues; should any experience an issue where they are unable to loot a chest, or a boss for any reason, they are more than welcome to submit an in-game petition and we'll look into the issue. =)

Also, should you guys experience this disconnection issue again, please make sure to let us know. ^_^

/bump

I'm not sure why you are bumping this, Iønîç, it sounds like you've already petitioned and gotten your answer.

We can only assist cases where we can prove from records what happened. In cases where there may be rollbacks - there may not be any records of an event happening.

I am very sorry about that, but we cannot restore what according to the logs - didn't happen. If there was a rollback, as far as the realm records go, it didn't happen.

Sorry, I'm just very upset about this and it seems like this same thing happened to a lot of other people. I don't see how much longer you guys can keep sidestepping this problem.

It's not really sidestepping, Iønîç, and sometimes we CAN help in cases like yours. It really all depends on what gets captured in the record. To be fair, WoW rarely has rollbacks. The way information is updated and saved makes it extremely rare.

I am very sorry it appears that seems to have happened in your particular case.

As I stated, rollbacks in WoW are very rare due to the way information and progress is saved.

A rollback is like a little timewarp. Imagine you are typing a letter and haven't saved it - and your power goes out :) While you DID type the letter, it's not there when you power your machine back up.

We'll be happy to look into any cases like this and certainly will do whatever we can.

Not trying to be argumentative, just wanting to know what to expect from the GM, so I know what to tell 24 of my raiders tomorrow night inquiring about their loot.

But in the case in point that you stated, when the power comes back on, We're able to re-type the letter :)

However from the way it's sounding so far and from what they experienced with your GM, and what you're saying, what is done is done. Soooooo..do we get to write the letter again if they can't find our boss kill and loot? (i.e. get to retry the boss?) or are we hosed (thanking god we stopped after only two bosses) on the bosses we DID LEGITLY kill for the week? Out our emblems and loot? Does that seem fair to you?

That is what they need to look at to find out, Myyth. No way to tell that till it's looked into.
