No wonder new players quit

Well, I went to the "New Players" server a couple nights ago cause a buddy of mine was gonna start playing the game for the first time again.

When we logged in, there was a massive crowd in the starting area which is normal, considering it's for the new players. However most of them weren't in the range of 1 to 6.. They were a bunch of 80's running around killing the stuff that is required to complete quests. Calling people idiots when they try to actually learn how to move around and use their skills appropriately.

After we made it past all that crap, we went into the major cities, where in Trade people were complaining about the "New Players" and how retarded they were. Eventually the server got so many new players that it required a queue, in which again more people complained about.

Saying it's "All the stupid noobs."

This is just ridiculous. Now I'm not sure how the servers work, but generally aren't "New Players" servers "New" servers? Or are they just low populated servers that Blizzard is trying to fill up by putting a "New Players" tag on it?

It sucked to see my friend hate the game so much based off just the players. He's a pretty angry guy naturally so it didn't help his situation being called an idiot when he was trying to learn.

Guess I'm just voicing my thoughts right now cause it's upsetting to say the least...

Welcome to WoW I guess.. It doesn't get any better the further you advance.. lol

The "New Players" tag is synonymous with "Recommended." This label was changed to make the terminology more palatable and descriptive. After all, new players to World of Warcraft may not immediately understand what "Recommended" means and why a particular realm would bear this label.

The criteria is the same, however. Realms which are listed as "New Players" have been identified as locations which may foster a good leveling or new player experience. Should you ever believe that a realm is perhaps labeled incorrectly, though, or if you think that the tag terminology should go back to "Recommended," please don't hesitate to post within our Suggestions Forum.

If you or your friend ever witness a player, of any level, using derogatory or defamatory language, please feel free to bring this behavior to the attention of our Game Master staff (via petition or email to [email protected]). While we are not in position to mandate that all players treat each other with respect, we can ensure that certain actions which are inappropriate for the World of Warcraft are investigated and, if necessary, met with the appropriate consequence.

That all said, I do hope your friend's gaming experience improves, Mazo, and that he is able to find individuals on his realm whom he can trust and group with amicably. If either you or your friend have any additional questions, please let me know. :)

Quite a thread necro we got going here...

A legitimate concern is a legitimate concern, regardless of when it was posted. :)

I will quote you when other thread necros that are just as significant and legitimate get closed or chastised by a blue in the future .... :-p

I was referring to the primary post, Vesnor. It addresses a very valid concern and was only moved to the Customer Service Forum yesterday. Fellow players reading along may share the same concerns, so it's good that a Blizzard response is made available. :)

With that said, if an individual poses a legitimate question within an older thread on the same topic in the Customer Service Forum, there is nothing inherently wrong with that. It's posts that seek to maliciously drag on an issue already settled, divert away from the original topic, troll the thread's author or replies within, or otherwise cause some sort of ruckus that are considered a forum faux-pas.

We do encourage players, however, to create a new topic if they wish to discuss an individual concern (like a compromise or a restoration or an account recovery, etc), as posting within an older thread that's already had its primary issue addressed may cause that concern to be overlooked. Also, there are times when we will ask players posting in an older thread to create a new topic; this will often occur if heir concern is slightly different or if a discussion is still ongoing with the older thread's OP (this is just to avoid confusion).
